We are looking for personnel to join our team and support key client projects.</span></p> <hr> <p><span style="font-size: 10pt;"><strong>Who we are supporting</strong><strong>&nbsp;</strong></span></p> <p><span style="font-size: 10pt;">The NATO Communication and Information Agency (NCIA) is responsible for providing secure and effective communications and information technology (IT) services to NATO's member countries and its partners. The agency was established in 2012 and is headquartered in Brussels, Belgium.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size: 10pt;">The NCIA provides a wide range of services, including:</span></p> <ul> <li style="font-size: 10pt;"><span style="font-size: 10pt;">Cyber Security: The NCIA provides advanced cybersecurity solutions to protect NATO's communication networks and information systems against cyber threats.</span></li> <li style="font-size: 10pt;"><span style="font-size: 10pt;">Command and Control Systems: The NCIA develops and maintains the systems used by NATO's military commanders to plan and execute operations.</span></li> <li style="font-size: 10pt;"><span style="font-size: 10pt;">Satellite Communications: The NCIA provides satellite communications services to enable secure and reliable communications between NATO forces.</span></li> <li style="font-size: 10pt;"><span style="font-size: 10pt;">Electronic Warfare: The NCIA provides electronic warfare services to support NATO's mission to detect, deny, and defeat threats to its communication networks.</span></li> <li style="font-size: 10pt;"><span style="font-size: 10pt;">Information Management: The NCIA manages NATO's information technology infrastructure, including its databases, applications, and servers.</span></li> </ul> <p><span style="font-size: 10pt;">Overall, the NCIA plays a critical role in ensuring the security and effectiveness of NATO's communication and information technology capabilities.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size: 10pt;"><strong>The program </strong></span></p> <p><span style="font-size: 10pt;"><strong>Assistance and Advisory Service (AAS)</strong></span></p> <p><span style="font-size: 10pt;">The NATO Communications and Information Agency (NCI Agency) is NATO’s principal C3 capability deliverer and CIS service provider. It provides, maintains and defends the NATO enterprise-wide information technology infrastructure to enable Allies to consult together under Article IV, and, when required, stand together in the face of attack under Article V.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size: 10pt;">To provide these critical services, in the modern evolving dynamic environment the NCI Agency needs to build and maintain high performance-engaged workforce. The NCI Agency workforce strategically consists of three major categorise's: NATO International Civilians (NIC)'s, Military (Mil), and Interim Workforce Consultants (IWC)'s. The IWCs are a critical part of the overall NCI Agency workforce and make up approximately 15 percent of the total workforce.</span></p> <hr> <p><strong>Role ID – C004940</strong></p> <p><strong>Role Duties and Responsibilities</strong></p> <ul> <li>Design, implement, and maintain enterprise virtualization and server infrastructure across data centers, office locations, and hybrid cloud environments.</li> <li>Configure, optimize, and troubleshoot VMware vSphere environments including ESXi hosts, vCenter, clusters, HA, DRS, vMotion, and storage integrations.</li> <li>Administer and maintain Windows Server and Linux systems, including patching, hardening, performance tuning, and lifecycle management.</li> <li>Manage enterprise storage, backup, and disaster recovery solutions to ensure data protection, resilience, and business continuity.</li> <li>Support identity and access management services including Active Directory, Group Policy, MFA, RBAC, and privileged access controls.</li> <li>Monitor infrastructure health using Splunk and other monitoring platforms; create dashboards, alerts, and operational reports.</li> <li>Analyze logs and telemetry data to proactively identify risks, incidents, capacity constraints, and performance issues.</li> <li>Develop automation solutions using PowerShell, Python, Ansible, Terraform, or PowerCLI to streamline provisioning, patching, compliance, configuration management, and operational tasks.</li> <li>Utilize monitoring tools to track server health, virtualization performance, storage utilization, backup status, and service availability.</li> <li>Lead incident response for critical infrastructure outages and restore services within SLA targets.</li> <li>Perform root cause analysis and implement preventive measures to reduce recurring incidents and improve platform stability.</li> <li>Serve as senior escalation point for complex infrastructure issuesand strategic engineering initiatives.</li> <li>Mentor junior engineers and share best practices in systems administration, virtualization, automation, and operational excellence.</li> <li>Lead infrastructure projects such as datacenter migrations, VMware upgrades, server refreshes, cloud integrations, and platform modernization initiatives.</li> <li>Maintain accurate documentation, standards, architecture diagrams, and operational procedures for the infrastructure environment.</li> <li>Collaborate with networking, security, cloud, and application teams to ensure reliable, secure, and scalable enterprise services.</li> <li>Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives focused on automation, standardization, security, and operational efficiency within the Engineering Team..</li> </ul> <p><strong>Essential Skills, Experience and Certifications</strong></p> <ul> <li>7+ years of hands-on experience in enterprise systems administration and operations.</li> <li>Strong expertise in VMware vSphere environments, including ESXi host management, vCenter administration, HA, DRS, vMotion, clustering, and lifecycle management.</li> <li>Advanced knowledge of enterprise virtualization platforms such as VMware vSphere, VMware NSX, VMware vSAN, Nutanix, or Hyper-V.</li> <li>Strong expertise in Windows Server and Linux administration, including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, identity integration, patching, and system hardening.</li> <li>Experience with storage and backup technologies, including SAN/NAS administration, datastores, replication, snapshots, and backup solutions such as Veeam, Commvault, or Rubrik.</li> <li>Strong expertise in automation and infrastructure as code, using PowerShell, Python, Ansible, Terraform, or VMware PowerCLI.</li> <li>Experience with monitoring and logging platforms for infrastructure health, performance, and troubleshooting, such as Splunk, vRealize Operations, Icinga/Nagios, , Zabbix, PRTG, or Grafana.</li> <li>Hands-on knowledge of system security, access control, and compliance, including MFA, PAM, endpoint hardening, vulnerability remediation, and RBAC administration.</li> <li>Experience managing hybrid infrastructure environments, including on-premises virtualization and cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or VMware Cloud.</li> <li>Strong understanding of networking fundamentals in virtualized environments, including VLANs, virtual switching, load balancing, DNS, and firewall integration.</li> <li>Experience with incident management, root cause analysis, disaster recovery, and major outage resolution in enterprise environments.</li> <li>Experience mentoring engineers, leading infrastructure projects, and acting as a senior escalation point.</li> <li>Experience with automation-driven operational improvements, including scripting, orchestration, self-service provisioning, and configuration management.</li> <li>Knowledge of containerization and modern infrastructure platforms such as Docker, Kubernetes, or OpenShift is a plus.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Working Location</strong></p> <ul> <li>The Hague, Netherlands</li> </ul> <p><strong>Working Policy</strong></p> <ul> <li>Onsite</li> </ul> <p><strong>Travel</strong></p> <ul> <li>Some travel to other NATO sites may be required</li> </ul> <p><strong>Security Clearance</strong></p> <ul> <li>Valid National or NATO Secret personal security clearance</li> </ul><div class="content-conclusion"><p><span style="font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif;
