If you join our team, you’ll be contributing to building the technology that powers the future.</p> <h2>About the Role</h2> <p><span class="textBold">We’re hiring a <strong>Staff Engineer, Customer Trust </strong>to architect, automate, and scale a technically rigorous customer trust and external assurance program across Nscale’s global AI infrastructure.</span></p> <p>This is a hands-on senior individual contributor role at the intersection of <strong><strong class="textBold">security, engineering, customer assurance, and external audit defense</strong></strong>. You will own the systems, processes, and technical content that enable Nscale to respond to customer assurance requests with <strong><strong class="textBold">accuracy, consistency, and speed</strong></strong>, while partnering closely with <strong><strong class="textBold">engineering, infrastructure, security, compliance engineering, and GRC program owners</strong></strong>.</p> <p>You’ll engage directly with <strong><strong class="textBold">enterprise customer security teams</strong></strong> during reviews and due diligence, lead external audit engagement for certification programs, and help ensure external-facing claims are technically precise and defensible. This role is critical to strengthening how Nscale communicates its security posture, scales trust operations, and supports growing customer and audit demand.</p> <h2>What you'll be doing</h2> <p><strong><strong class="textBold">Customer Assurance Delivery</strong></strong></p> <ul> <li value="1"><strong><strong class="textBold">Own</strong></strong> customer security questionnaires and assurance requests from intake through completion.</li> <li value="2"><strong><strong class="textBold">Deliver</strong></strong> clear, accurate, and timely responses for customer-facing security reviews.</li> <li value="3"><strong><strong class="textBold">Support</strong></strong> customer security discussions, audits, and due diligence engagements.</li> <li value="4"><strong><strong class="textBold">Establish</strong></strong> and track SLAs for response time and quality.</li> <li value="5"><strong><strong class="textBold">Build</strong></strong> and maintain a register of customer security commitments.</li> </ul> <p><strong><strong class="textBold">Audit Readiness and External Engagement</strong></strong></p> <ul> <li value="1"><strong><strong class="textBold">Lead</strong></strong> external audit engagement for major certifications in partnership with compliance engineering and GRC program owners.</li> <li value="2"><strong><strong class="textBold">Ensure</strong></strong> evidence, control narratives, and auditor-facing materials are accurate and defensible.</li> <li value="3"><strong><strong class="textBold">Serve</strong></strong> as the primary external-facing technical representative for Nscale’s security controls during audits.</li> <li value="4"><strong><strong class="textBold">Translate</strong></strong> engineering evidence into clear, defensible control explanations for auditors.</li> <li value="5"><strong><strong class="textBold">Report</strong></strong> on external review status, audit engagement status, control defensibility, and audit risk to senior leadership.</li> </ul> <p><strong><strong class="textBold">Technical Translation and Validation</strong></strong></p> <ul> <li value="1"><strong><strong class="textBold">Translate</strong></strong> complex technical controls into clear external-facing explanations for customers and auditors.</li> <li value="2"><strong><strong class="textBold">Partner</strong></strong> with engineering, infrastructure, security, and compliance engineering teams to validate accuracy.</li> <li value="3"><strong><strong class="textBold">Interpret</strong></strong> technical systems across infrastructure, physical security, identity, monitoring, and compliance.</li> <li value="4"><strong><strong class="textBold">Maintain</strong></strong> a high bar for precision and technical rigor in written and verbal external communications.</li> </ul> <p><strong><strong class="textBold">Documentation and Knowledge Management</strong></strong></p> <ul> <li value="1"><strong><strong class="textBold">Maintain</strong></strong> security documentation including architecture, controls, certifications, and policies.</li> <li value="2"><strong><strong class="textBold">Build</strong></strong> structured knowledge bases to support repeatable assurance and audit workflows.</li> <li value="3"><strong><strong class="textBold">Create</strong></strong> reusable response libraries to improve consistency across customer and auditor requests.</li> <li value="4"><strong><strong class="textBold">Identify</strong></strong> recurring information gaps and improve documentation to strengthen transparency.</li> </ul> <p><strong><strong class="textBold">Automation and Program Scale</strong></strong></p> <ul> <li value="1"><strong><strong class="textBold">Design</strong></strong> and implement self-service trust centers, reusable response libraries, and automated retrieval systems.</li> <li value="2"><strong><strong class="textBold">Implement</strong></strong> automation and AI-assisted workflows to reduce manual effort.</li> <li value="3"><strong><strong class="textBold">Improve</strong></strong> response consistency and speed through automation-first systems.</li> <li value="4"><strong><strong class="textBold">Drive</strong></strong> integrations between engineering-led compliance systems and customer-facing trust workflows to streamline evidence sharing.</li> <li value="5"><strong><strong class="textBold">Scale</strong></strong> customer assurance and audit engagement processes to support growing demand.</li> </ul> <h2>KPIs</h2> <ul> <li value="1">Response time SLA attainment across value="4">Reduction in manual effort through automation</li> </ul> <h2>About You</h2> <ul> <li value="1"><strong><strong class="textBold">8+ years of experience</strong></strong> in customer trust, security assurance, GRC, or security engineering</li> <li value="2">Strong understanding of <strong><strong class="textBold">cloud infrastructure, security controls, and enterprise architectures</strong></strong></li> <li value="3">Hands-on experience completing detailed <strong><strong class="textBold">security questionnaires</strong></strong> and supporting customer security reviews</li> <li value="4">Experience leading certification engagements such as <strong><strong class="textBold">ISO 27001, SOC 2, or equivalent frameworks</strong></strong></li> <li value="5">Ability to interpret technical systems and communicate them clearly to <strong><strong class="textBold">external audiences</strong></strong></li> <li value="6">Strong attention to detail and the ability to operate effectively under <strong><strong class="textBold">tight timelines</strong></strong></li> <li value="7">Experience engaging directly with <strong><strong class="textBold">external auditors</strong></strong> during certification or surveillance audits</li> <li value="8">Hands-on experience with trust platforms such as <strong><strong class="textBold">Vanta, Drata, or ServiceNow GRC</strong></strong></li> <li value="9">Experience building or improving <strong><strong class="textBold">automation</strong></strong> in trust or assurance workflows</li> <li value="10">Experience
