If you join our team, you’ll be contributing to building the technology that powers the future.</p> <h2>About the Role</h2> <p>We’re hiring an <strong><strong class="textBold">Engineer Storage Services</strong></strong> to help design, build, operate, and improve storage capabilities across the Nscale platform, including <strong><strong class="textBold">Block, File, Parallel, and Object</strong></strong> services.</p> <p>This role sits within the <strong><strong class="textBold">Engineering</strong></strong> team and reports to the <strong><strong class="textBold">VP Storage Services</strong></strong>, working closely with a technically strong group of engineers as well as senior technical leaders, including <strong><strong class="textBold">Principal Engineers</strong></strong>. You’ll collaborate across the wider platform to ensure storage services integrate effectively with <strong><strong class="textBold">compute, networking, and platform tooling</strong></strong>.</p> <p>You’ll play an important role in delivering <strong><strong class="textBold">reliable, scalable, and high-performing</strong></strong> storage services that support both the broader Nscale platform and customer needs. in a fast-moving environment.</p> <h2>What you'll be doing</h2> <p><strong><strong class="textBold">Storage Services Engineering</strong></strong></p> <ul> <li value="1"><strong><strong class="textBold">Build</strong></strong> storage services across <strong><strong class="textBold">Block, File, Parallel, and Object</strong></strong> storage technologies.</li> <li value="2"><strong><strong class="textBold">Operate</strong></strong> and improve storage platforms to support scalable, resilient, and secure service delivery.</li> <li value="3"><strong><strong class="textBold">Implement</strong></strong> designs, architectures, and service improvements in partnership with senior engineers and technical leaders.</li> <li value="4"><strong><strong class="textBold">Contribute</strong></strong> to the engineering and day-to-day running of storage platforms and services.</li> </ul> <p><strong><strong class="textBold">Platform Integration and Operations</strong></strong></p> <ul> <li value="1"><strong><strong class="textBold">Support</strong></strong> the delivery of storage capabilities aligned to <strong><strong class="textBold">Nscale platform standards</strong></strong>.</li> <li value="2"><strong><strong class="textBold">Assist</strong></strong> with integrating storage services into the broader platform to ensure interoperability with <strong><strong class="textBold">compute, networking, and platform tooling</strong></strong>.</li> <li value="3"><strong><strong class="textBold">Work</strong></strong> with the wider engineering organisation to understand requirements, resolve issues, and deliver services that meet platform and customer needs.</li> <li value="4"><strong><strong class="textBold">Participate</strong></strong> in technical discussions, design reviews, and service improvement initiatives led by Storage Services leadership.</li> </ul> <p><strong><strong class="textBold">Reliability, Monitoring, and Incident Response</strong></strong></p> <ul> <li value="1"><strong><strong class="textBold">Monitor</strong></strong> service health, performance, and capacity across the storage estate.</li> <li value="2"><strong><strong class="textBold">Improve</strong></strong> observability, alerting, and operational readiness for production storage services.</li> <li value="3"><strong><strong class="textBold">Troubleshoot</strong></strong> incidents, performance issues, and service problems using a structured approach.</li> <li value="4"><strong><strong class="textBold">Support</strong></strong> root cause analysis and help drive long-term fixes to improve service reliability.</li> </ul> <p><strong><strong class="textBold">Automation and Continuous Improvement</strong></strong></p> <ul> <li value="1"><strong><strong class="textBold">Contribute</strong></strong> to service reliability through automation, tooling, documentation, and process optimisation.</li> <li value="2"><strong><strong class="textBold">Support</strong></strong> engineering best practices across configuration management, testing, deployment, and operational support.</li> <li value="3"><strong><strong class="textBold">Maintain</strong></strong> clear documentation for storage systems, operational procedures, service changes, and support processes.</li> <li value="4"><strong><strong class="textBold">Stay</strong></strong> current with developments in storage technologies, infrastructure platforms, and engineering practices class="textBold">Experience</strong></strong> as a Storage Engineer, Infrastructure Engineer, Systems Engineer, or Platform Engineer role, ideally in cloud, hosting, infrastructure, or distributed systems environments</li> <li value="2"><strong><strong class="textBold">Good working knowledge</strong></strong> of storage concepts and technologies across one or more of <strong><strong class="textBold">Block, File, Parallel, and Object</strong></strong> storage</li> <li value="3"><strong><strong class="textBold">Experience</strong></strong> supporting production infrastructure or platform services with a focus on reliability, performance, and operational excellence</li> <li value="4"><strong><strong class="textBold">Solid understanding</strong></strong> of Linux systems, networking fundamentals, and infrastructure operations</li> <li value="5"><strong><strong class="textBold">Experience</strong></strong> with automation, scripting, or infrastructure-as-code approaches for managing platforms and services</li> <li value="6"><strong><strong class="textBold">Ability</strong></strong> to troubleshoot technical, service, performance, and operational issues in a structured and methodical way</li> <li value="7"><strong><strong class="textBold">Understanding</strong></strong> of monitoring, observability, and incident response practices in production
