The Senior Estimator is responsible for accurately estimating the total costs associated with a project. They review subcontractor bids to choose the most cost-effective option. A challenging position that requires fine attention to detail. The candidate must demonstrate the ability to work well under pressure, especially when facing bid deadlines.</span></p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><span style="font-size: 10pt;"><strong><u>Responsibilities and Duties</u></strong></span></p> <ul> <li style="font-size: 10pt;"><span style="font-size: 10pt;">Oversee the full lifecycle of project estimating, from preliminary concepts through completed bid packages</span></li> <li style="font-size: 10pt;"><span style="font-size: 10pt;">Prepare detailed conceptual budgets from pre-construction, concept design, schematic design, and design development documents</span></li> <li style="font-size: 10pt;"><span style="font-size: 10pt;">Perform detailed take-offs of all trades</span></li> <li style="font-size: 10pt;"><span style="font-size: 10pt;">Initiate and manage entire bid process (CM and GC) inclusive of preparation of detailed bid packages and assure accurate and proper submissions/proposals by all subcontractors</span></li> <li style="font-size: 10pt;"><span style="font-size: 10pt;">Accurately level all subcontractor bids</span></li> <li style="font-size: 10pt;"><span style="font-size: 10pt;">Negotiate and purchase all subcontractors including the issuance of purchase orders</span></li> <li style="font-size: 10pt;"><span style="font-size: 10pt;">Maintain vendor relationships</span></li> <li style="font-size: 10pt;"><span style="font-size: 10pt;">Collaborate with engineers, architects, clients, and subcontractors</span></li> <li style="font-size: 10pt;"><span style="font-size: 10pt;">Interfacing with field team by communicating deliverable and procurement schedules</span></li> <li style="font-size: 10pt;"><span style="font-size: 10pt;">Interpret drawings and specifications to quantify scope and develop detailed projections for materials, labor, and overall project costs</span></li> <li style="font-size: 10pt;"><span style="font-size: 10pt;">Identify potential risks early and propose strategic, cost-efficient solutions to enhance overall project value</span></li> <li style="font-size: 10pt;"><span style="font-size: 10pt;">Contribute to client and internal meetings by presenting estimates and supporting value engineering discussions</span></li> <li style="font-size: 10pt;"><span style="font-size: 10pt;">Conduct site visits to assess existing conditions and capture scope elements not reflected in contract documents</span></li> <li style="font-size: 10pt;"><span style="font-size: 10pt;">Guide and support junior estimators while helping refine processes and elevate team performance</span></li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><span style="font-size: 10pt;"><strong><u>Qualifications and Skills</u></strong></span></p> <ul> <li style="font-size: 10pt;"><span style="font-size: 10pt;">Four-year degree and 7-10 years minimum experience in budgeting/estimating</span></li> <li style="font-size: 10pt;"><span style="font-size: 10pt;">Excellent time management and organizational skills</span></li> <li style="font-size: 10pt;"><span style="font-size: 10pt;">Ability to work well under pressure of deadlines and meet them</span></li> <li style="font-size: 10pt;"><span style="font-size: 10pt;">Demonstrate proficiency in reading commercial construction plans and specifications</span></li> <li style="font-size: 10pt;"><span style="font-size: 10pt;">Knowledge of New York City subcontractor base</span></li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><span style="font-size: 10pt;"><strong><u>Computer Systems</u></strong></span></p> <ul> <li style="font-size: 10pt;"><span style="font-size: 10pt;">Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook), Procore (preferred but not required), and Timberline (preferred but not required)</span></li> <li style="font-size: 10pt;"><span style="font-size: 10pt;">On-Screen Takeoff (preferred but not required)</span></li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><span style="font-size: 10pt;"><strong><u>Salary Information</u></strong></span></p> <ul> <li style="font-size: 10pt;"><span style="font-size: 10pt;">To the extent this position is performed in New York City, the annual salary range for this role is $180,000 - $220,000.</span></li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p><div class="content-conclusion"><p><span style="font-size: 10pt;"><em><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment at JRM without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, veteran status, or other characteristics protected by law.&nbsp;</span></em></span></p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><span style="font-size: 10pt;"><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;"><em>The salary range listed in job postings reflects the Company’s good-faith estimate at the time of posting.
