Essential Functions and Primary Duties
- Month end reconciliations and closing procedures – including bank reconciliation, income reconciliation between software, review general ledger coding, balance liabilities, etc.
- Operate accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, general ledger maintenance and financial close process.
- Prepare monthly sales and use tax for clients
- Understand basic payroll functions for recording.
- Prepare or assist in client’s internal financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP or other relevant accounting standards.
- Coordinate reporting requirements with external auditors and tax accountants (as needed).
- Input, process, and/or approve payables through third-party, web-based payables systems such as Bill.com or Anybill.com
- Perform self-review to ensure accuracy of work.
- Communicate directly with team and clients related tasks.
- Assist with year-end 1099 processing
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Accounting, Taxation or related field
- Proficiency in QuickBooks Online (QBO) accounting software – ProAdvisor Certification a plus
- Proficiency in Quickbooks Desktop, Xero, Yardi, Sage Intacct, Bill.com, Gusto, other software skills a plus
- Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
- Strong attention to detail, organizational, and time management skills
- Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently
- Ability to manage multiple client assignments simultaneously
- Ability to be flexible on day-to-day workloads that change with client needs
- Strong understanding of deadlines
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required
- Must have completed at least one "busy season"
- Demonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing throughout all levels of organization, both internally and externally
- Proficient use of applicable technology
- Must be able to travel based on client and business needs
