About the role
<p class="p3">The Facilities & Building Services Technician is responsible for the safe, efficient, and continuous operation of building systems within a 24/7 hospital environment. This role ensures critical infrastructure, including HVAC, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire life safety systems, are maintained to the highest standards. The technician plays a key role in supporting hospital operations, regulatory compliance, and emergency response, with an emphasis on Fire Life Safety coverage.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span></p>
<h3 class="p4"><strong>Key Responsibilities<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span></strong></h3>
<ul>
<li class="p3">Operate, maintain, and repair HVAC, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and building systems.</li>
<li class="p3">Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure uninterrupted hospital operations.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span></li>
<li class="p3">Respond to and troubleshoot system failures, alarms, and emergency situations.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span></li>
<li class="p3">Support Fire Life Safety operations including coordination during fire alarms, drills, and emergency events.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span></li>
<li class="p3">Interface with FDNY and other regulatory agencies as required.</li>
<li class="p3">Maintain accurate records of work orders, inspections, and maintenance activities.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span></li>
<li class="p3">Collaborate with internal departments and external vendors to ensure timely completion of work.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span></li>
<li class="p3">Ensure compliance with OSHA, FDNY, and hospital safety standards.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span></li>
<li class="p3">Participate in a rotating schedule to support 24/7 facility operations, including weekends and holidays.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span></li>

<h3 class="p4"><strong>Required Qualifications<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span></strong></h3>
<ul>
<li class="p3">High School Diploma or equivalent.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span></li>
<li class="p3">Minimum 3–5 years of experience in facilities, plant operations, or building maintenance in a healthcare or similar environment.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span></li>
<li class="p3">Strong working knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span></li>
<li class="p3">Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and system schematics.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span></li>
<li class="p3">Demonstrated ability to respond effectively in emergency situations.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span></li>
<li class="p3">Strong communication and teamwork skills.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span></li>

<li class="p3">S12 Sprinkler Systems.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span></li>

<p class="p3">Work is performed in a hospital environment requiring exposure to mechanical systems, noise, and occasional hazardous conditions.
