Rhode Island Infrastructure Bank
Rhode Island Infrastructure Bank (the Bank) is the state’s central hub for financing infrastructure improvements for municipalities, businesses, and homeowners. Internship Posting – Financial Analyst
We are seeking a partl-time (22.5 hours weekly, on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday) summer intern for a 12± week internship as a Financial Analyst. The selected candidate will be exposed to a variety of work with a focus around the following:
1. Provide accounting support for the year-end process.
2. Assist with developing and documenting the fiscal year 2025 operating plan.
3. Assist with enhancing key performance indicators (KPIs) for management and board to help evaluate the success of the Bank in meeting its performance objectives.
4. Assist with gathering data from the municipal financial statements and assist with completing the financial metrics report.
5. Assist with loan operation processes.
An internship with the Bank is an exciting opportunity to gain valuable real-world experience with a progressive and well-regarded institution. We are seeking candidates with a strong interest and experience in accounting, finance, financial reporting and analysis, and operations management.
Required Qualifications
The candidate will be expected to:
• Be currently matriculated in a Bachelor’s, Master’s or other post-graduate degree program relevant to accounting and/or finance.
• Exhibit strong analytical thinking and communication skills (verbal and written).
• Possess advanced Microsoft Excel skills and strong familiarity with other Microsoft Office software (i.e., Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
• Possess demonstrated interest in infrastructure, climate policy and finance through their coursework, work experience and/or extracurricular activities.
• Possess 0-3 years of professional experience in financial reporting and analysis.
• Work out of the Infrastructure Bank’s office in Providence, RI.
• Maintain a level of professionalism and integrity appropriate of a contributing member of the team and organization.
Additional Preferred Qualifications:
• Proficiency in research and data analytics skills.
• Ability to design workflow processes.
Compensation, Location, and Term
We are offering paid (and credit upon evaluation) internships for the summer of 2025. The internship will be located at the Bank’s office in Providence, RI. Candidates must possess the means to commute to our office. This internship will commence in mid-May and last through mid-August (dates negotiable).
