About the role
People in Need (PIN) is a Czech non-profit, non-governmental organization that has been implementing relief and development projects in crisis regions around the globe over its thirty-year history. PIN is an international, non-profit organization providing humanitarian and development assistance in over 20 countries worldwide. PIN draws on extensive past experiences and lessons learned across development, emergency and post emergency contexts to design, implement and monitor quality programming.
PIN-Cambodia began operations in the country in 2008 and has worked on diverse portfolios and implemented a variety of programs and projects. PIN’s work focusing on Covid-19 responses in urban and rural settings, professional and vocational education, Cambodia’s transition towards cleaner energy with a focus on solar power, vulnerability mapping and poverty reduction, and continued work on disaster management and early warning systems.
Main responsibilities:
- Specific duties and responsibilities:
- Assist in reviewing and controlling accounting documents, ensuring that all supporting documentation is complete, accurate, and compliant with the organization’s financial policies and procedures before processing.
- Communicate with staff regarding basic financial and administrative requirements and provide support in gathering necessary documentation.
- Assist in preparing, organizing, and compiling financial documents required for audits, internal reviews, or external stakeholders.
- Support the Finance team in processing payments and preparing related documentation in accordance with internal procedures.
- Assist with the payment of Cambodian taxes at the relevant tax department on behalf of the organization, ensuring required documents are properly prepared.
- Maintain proper filing and archiving of financial, administrative, and logistics documents to ensure easy retrieval and compliance with documentation standards.
- Support the monitoring and organization of financial records, invoices, and payment documents.
- Assist in maintaining updated records of financial transactions and supporting documents in both physical and electronic formats.
- Provide administrative support to the Finance team, including document preparation, scanning, copying, and filing.
- Assist in coordinating with other departments to collect financial documents and supporting information when required.
- Contribute to the preparation and organization of office meetings, events, or activities when necessary.
- Perform other tasks and responsibilities as assigned by the line manager to support the effective functioning of the Finance team
Requirements
Desired Knowledge, Skills and Competencies:
- Currently enrolled in at least Year 2 (or 3) or recently completed a degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Basic understanding of accounting principles & documentation
- Proficient in MS Excel & Word; accounting software is a plus
- Demonstrates accuracy in document review, data handling, or academic work.
- Evidence of filing, record-keeping, or structured work approach
- Clear and professional written communication in CV
- Indicates reliability, responsibility, or handling sensitive data
- Demonstrates motivation, proactiveness, and willingness to learn.
- Any internship experience, coursework, or administrative/finance-related exposure (if applicable).
