Financial Accountant - Manufacturing

That foundation includes complete and accurate financial records that reflect everything happening across our business.</p> <p>To strengthen our manufacturing operations in <strong>Lesotho</strong>, we are seeking a <strong>Financial Accountant</strong>, based in <strong>Durban</strong>, who will support and translate day-to-day factory activity into a clear financial picture of the business. In this role, every transaction, cost, and movement of materials is captured and correctly recorded, building a comprehensive view of performance across the manufacturing environment.</p> <p>This is a detail-driven role suited to someone who works with consistency, care, and precision. It requires a steady approach to maintaining financial records that are complete, consistent, and free of error. Working closely with the Financial Controller and operational teams across both Durban and Lesotho, you will provide the reliable financial data that supports decision-making.</p> <p><strong>As the Financial Accountant, your key responsibilities will include:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Capturing all financial transactions, ensuring they are correctly categorised and up to date</li> <li>Maintaining and reconciling general ledger accounts, ensuring balances are accurate and consistent</li> <li>Ensuring all manufacturing-related transactions, including materials, labour, and overheads, are accurately recorded</li> <li>Preparing journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and supporting schedules</li> <li>Managing month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring all financial activity is complete and ready for reporting</li> <li>Identifying and resolving discrepancies, investigating variances, and ensuring the integrity of financial data</li> <li>Supporting fixed asset accounting, including tracking, reconciliation, and depreciation of equipment and machinery</li> <li>Maintaining adherence to internal controls, policies, and accounting standards</li> <li>Assisting with audit preparation, ensuring all financial records and documentation are complete and accessible</li> <li>Occasional travel to our manufacturing facility based in Lesotho&nbsp;</li> </ul> <p><strong>Skills and qualifications required:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Relevant financial qualification (e.g. BCom Accounting, CIMA, CA(SA), or equivalent)</li> <li>Experience in a Financial Accountant or similar role</li> <li>Experience within a manufacturing or production environment is advantageous</li> </ul> </div><div class="content-conclusion"><p>In line with Jonsson Workwear’s commitment to employment equity, applications from candidates from designated groups, as well as candidates with disabilities, are encouraged.</p></div>
