<p><strong>Job Title: Financial Analyst II</strong></p> <p><strong>Location:</strong> Springfield, IL (hybrid position with 2-3 days in-office required)<strong>&nbsp;</strong></p> <p><strong>Position Summary</strong></p> <p>Supports financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and business analysis activities by partnering with division leadership to provide financial insights and decision support. Responsible for analyzing business performance, preparing financial models, and communicating results to leadership while driving process improvements and maintaining strong financial controls.<strong>&nbsp;</strong></p> <p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p> <ul> <li>Coordinate budgeting and planning activities with division leadership and provide financial guidance.</li> <li>Analyze budgets, spending trends, and key business drivers to identify risks and opportunities.</li> <li>Serve as a liaison to leadership, presenting budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses.</li> <li>Develop and maintain allocation methodologies and cost drivers.</li> <li>Prepare cost-benefit analyses (CBAs) and financial models to support strategic initiatives and investment decisions.</li> <li>Perform recurring and ad hoc financial analysis, forecasting, and reporting.</li> <li>Prepare or oversee monthly accruals and expense analyses.</li> <li>Ensure expenses are managed and paid in accordance with established controls and policies.</li> <li>Analyze business metrics, forecasts, and industry trends to provide actionable recommendations.</li> <li>Prepare and communicate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial results.</li> <li>Identify opportunities for process improvements and operational efficiencies.<strong>&nbsp;</strong></li> </ul> <p><strong>Requirements</strong></p> <ul> <li>Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field.</li> <li>3–5 years of finance, accounting, FP&amp;A, or related experience.</li> <li>Strong analytical, financial modeling, and problem-solving skills.</li> <li>Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.</li> <li>Proficiency with financial systems and tools, including Excel and planning/reporting applications.</li> <li>Strong communication skills with the ability to present financial information to leadership.</li> <li>Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Salary Range:</strong> $66,500.00 - $92,000.00</p> <ul> <li>Salary is commensurate to experience, location, etc.</li> </ul><div class="content-conclusion"><p>Horace Mann was founded in 1945 by two Springfield, Illinois, teachers who saw a need for quality, affordable auto insurance for teachers.
