About the role
<p>The Financial Controller for our Corporate Shared Services is a hands-on leadership role responsible for end-of-the-end controllership, including the monthly close, financial reporting, technical accounting, internal controls, and statutory/tax compliance of supported group companies. You will serve as the finance owner for P&L and balance sheet of supported/assigned group companies, partnering closely with Operations, Sales, Product, and Corporate FP&A to drive accuracy, speed, and insight into financial results—and to build scalable processes for growth.<strong> </strong></p>
<p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p>
<p><strong>Financial Close & Reporting</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual closing for supported group companies; deliver timely, accurate financial statements in accordance with US GAAP.</li>
<li>Prepare reporting packages, flux analyses, variance bridges, and management commentary for the CFO and executive team.</li>
<li>Consolidate results into corporate reporting; ensure alignment with corporate accounting policies.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Accounting & Controls</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Maintain a robust control environment: account reconciliations, journal entries, revenue recognition, accruals, reserves, and key controls documentation.</li>
<li>Lead technical accounting assessments (e.g., ASC 606 revenue arrangements, software capitalization, leases under ASC 842, impairment reviews) in partnership with Corporate Accounting.</li>
<li>Manage audits (external and internal) and coordinate PBCs; resolve findings and implement remediation plans.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Revenue, Costing & Working Capital</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Oversee revenue recognition and billing accuracy; partner with Sales Ops and Legal on contract terms to ensure compliance.</li>
<li>Monitor COGS, gross margin drivers, and inventory valuation; implement standard costing and variance analysis where applicable.</li>
<li>Optimize working capital: A/R collections, credit risk, DSO/aging management, A/P terms, and cash forecasting.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Operational Excellence & Systems</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Streamline processes and automate close activities to cut cycle time and reduce manual work.</li>
<li>Serve as accounting owner for the NetSuite ERP and sub-ledgers (e.g., order-to-cash, procure-to-pay, project accounting).</li>
<li>Implement and maintain policies, accounting manuals, and desktop procedures.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Business Partnership</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Partner with FP&A on forecasts, budgets, and outlooks; provide financial insights that drive profitable growth.</li>
<li>Support pricing, SKU/product profitability, portfolio rationalization, and investment cases with data-backed analyses.</li>
<li>Advise leadership of assigned group companies with clear, actionable financial narratives and KPIs.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Tax & Compliance</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Coordinate with Tax on federal, state, local, and sales/use tax filings; ensure compliance with NYC/NY state requirements.</li>
<li>Ensure compliance with all regulatory, contractual, and customer reporting obligations.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Qualifications</strong></p>
<p><strong>Required</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.</li>
<li>8–12+ years of progressive accounting/controllership experience, including team leadership.</li>
<li>Strong US GAAP knowledge; proven monthly close ownership and audit experience.</li>
<li>ERP proficiency (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics).</li>
<li>Advanced Excel and data analysis skills; strong written and verbal communication.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Preferred</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>CPA (or equivalent) highly preferred.</li>
<li>Industry experience in software/technology, SaaS, or product/wholesale.</li>
<li>Experience with revenue recognition (ASC 606), capitalization policies, and multi-entity/multi-currency consolidations.</li>
<li>Process automation and BI/reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) exposure.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Success Metrics (First 12 Months)</strong></p>
<ul>
<li><strong>Close timeline:</strong> Reduce monthly close of books to ≤ <strong>X</strong> business days with >99% accuracy.</li>
<li><strong>Control quality:</strong> Zero material weaknesses/significant deficiencies; on-time reconciliations.</li>
<li><strong>Working capital:</strong> Improve DSO by <strong>X</strong> days; reduce aged A/R >90 days by <strong>Y%</strong>.</li>
<li><strong>Gross margin insight:</strong> Monthly bridge of price/volume/mix/cost; actionable variance drivers.</li>
<li><strong>Process automation:</strong> Eliminate <strong>X</strong> manual JEs, implement <strong>Y</strong> system workflows, and publish an accounting playbook for assigned group companies.</li>
<li><strong>Partnership:</strong> Positive feedback from leadership of assigned group companies on financial clarity and responsiveness.</li>
</ul>

<p>Pay Range : $180k - 220k but will depend on the candidate qualifications and experience.</p>
