Financial Controller (Remote Contractor)

The Opportunity

WPT Global is seeking an experienced Financial Controller to support the finance operations of a fast-growing international online business.

This is a fully remote contractor opportunity suited to a commercially minded finance professional with strong international experience and the ability to operate in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee financial reporting, accounting operations, budgeting, and forecasting activities
• Develop and improve financial controls, reporting processes, and operational procedures
• Support strategic financial planning and performance analysis
• Prepare monthly management reporting and financial insights for senior stakeholders
• Monitor financial and operational risks and recommend appropriate controls
• Coordinate external audits and liaise with external accounting and advisory partners
• Support KPI reporting, cash flow forecasting, and business performance tracking
• Ensure compliance with applicable financial standards and internal governance requirements
• Partner with cross-functional stakeholders across international teams

Requirements

• Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related discipline
• Proven experience operating in a senior finance, controllership, or financial leadership role
• Strong background in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and risk management
• Experience improving finance processes, controls, and operational reporting
• Strong analytical, organisational, and problem-solving capabilities
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Advanced proficiency with accounting systems, spreadsheets, and financial analysis tools
• Professional qualification such as CPA, CMA, ACCA, or equivalent is advantageous

Preferred Experience

• Experience working within fast-paced international businesses
• Experience supporting remote or distributed global teams
• Exposure to digital, technology, fintech, entertainment, or online platform businesses is beneficial
