Recess is a modern, high-quality childcare space offering flexible, creative, and calm environments for kids and families. We're looking for a passionate, experienced Assistant Teacher to guide our play-based learning programs for infants.

What You’ll Do

• Lead our ReadyPlay daily curriculum for children ages 6 weeks - 18 months, blending structure, creativity, and calm.
• Plan and implement engaging, developmentally appropriate activities rooted in social-emotional growth, communication, and critical thinking.
• Supervise assistant teachers, collaborate with leadership, and ensure daily classroom operations meet PA DHS standards and Recess quality standards.
• Maintain a warm, inclusive environment that supports children of all backgrounds and learning styles.
• Communicate regularly with families to share updates, insights, and documentation of growth.
• Support safe, respectful transitions, rest periods, and routines throughout the full-day schedule.

Requirements

• Must be 18+ and pass PA background checks (NSOR, FBI fingerprinting, child abuse, and state criminal).
• Valid pediatric CPR and first aid certifications (or willingness to complete).
• Annual training (12+ hours) and onboarding courses per DHS health and safety standards.
