Forklift Driver

Job Summary:

This position is responsible for operating forklifts and other material handling equipment to support plant operations in a fast-paced automotive manufacturing environment. Responsibilities include loading/unloading, staging, material movement, and routine equipment maintenance while ensuring adherence to safety and operational standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
• Load, unload, move, stack, and stage products and materials in designated areas.
• Conduct daily equipment inspections and perform basic forklift maintenance to ensure operational safety.
• Support inventory management by accurately handling goods in and out of storage locations.
• Providing support to the assembly team.
• Collaborate with warehouse, production, and logistics teams to meet operational goals.
• Report equipment faults, safety concerns, or operational issues to supervisors promptly.
• Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.

Requirements:

• Experience: 1–3 years in logistics, warehousing, or manufacturing environment; automotive or industrial sector experience preferred.
• Certification: Valid forklift operator license/certification.

Skills:

• Skilled in operating forklifts and warehouse handling
• Knowledge of safe loading/unloading and stacking procedures
• Basic understanding of warehouse organization and material flow.
• Time management and ability to work under pressure.
• Communication in both English and Swahili.
• Ability to operate different types of forklifts.
• Basic mechanical aptitude for routine equipment checks and maintenance.
