committed team distributed across the Americas.</p> </div></div><p><strong>We're looking for a Forward-deployed Engineer to sit at the intersection of Product Engineering and our Go-To-Market teams, embedded directly with partners and customers to ship integrations fast, acting as the primary technical owner for every integration in your portfolio.</strong></p> <p><strong>You'll own the full integration lifecycle from qualification to handoff, working hands-on with technical and non-technical stakeholders on both sides.</strong> You'll write real code, shape the integration framework, and feed patterns back into the platform.</p> <p><strong>In this role, you will:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Own the full integration lifecycle for partners and customers who need hands-on delivery support, qualification, scoping, build, and handoff</li> <li>Run Phase 0 qualification assessments — mapping systems, data flows, risk surface, and build approach before committing to timelines</li> <li>Build and configure integration connectors, data mappings, and partner adapters using Clara's integration framework and shared libraries</li> <li>Coordinate directly with partner technical teams throughout the build, acting as the primary technical point of contact</li> <li>Partner with Platform/API squads to leverage core primitives (webhooks, auth patterns, event contracts) and flag reuse opportunities</li> <li>Ensure every integration meets Clara's standards: idempotency, observability, secrets management, data minimization, and sandbox testing</li> <li>Drive clean handoffs — delivering runbooks, dashboards, on-call assignments, and support playbooks before marking an integration as done</li> <li>Feed learnings back into the platform: identify patterns that should become shared libraries or configuration</li> </ul> <p><strong>Who you are</strong></p> <p><strong>We're looking for someone who meets the minimum requirements to be considered for the role.</strong></p> <p><strong>Must haves:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Experience working directly with external partners or customers in a technical capacity, you're comfortable owning the relationship, not just the code</li> <li>Working directly with end customers</li> <li>Designing the solution from scratch to meet customer needs</li> <li>Great communication skills</li> <li>4+ years of backend software development experience, with hands-on exposure to API integrations, webhooks, and data mapping</li> <li>Deep fluency in integration patterns: REST, event-driven architectures, OAuth/token management, idempotency</li> <li>Ability to move fast in ambiguous environments: qualify a new integration request, scope it, and start building within days</li> <li>Strong proficiency in one or more backend languages (preferably Java) and comfort working across multiple systems and tech stacks</li> <li>Working knowledge of observability fundamentals: logs, metrics, tracing, alerting, and SLOs</li> <li>You use AI tools as a force multiplier, from scaffolding connectors to automating repetitive mapping work</li> <li>Working proficiency in English and Spanish, or English and Portuguese</li> <li>Excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences</li> <li>Exposure to integration platforms or connector frameworks (e.g. N8N, Zapier, or custom-built equivalents)</li> </ul> <p><strong>Nice to haves:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Experience in fintech, payments, or financial data infrastructure</li> <li>Familiarity with PCI/PII data handling and compliance
