<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">AoPS Academy is a program of Art of Problem Solving (AoPS), a global leader in K–12 advanced education. AoPS is on a mission to discover, inspire, and train the great problem solvers of the next generation. Since 2003, AoPS has trained hundreds of thousands of the country’s top students through its online school, in-person academies, textbooks, and online learning systems. AoPS Academy offers unique problem solving curriculum at its in-person </span><a href="https://aopsacademy.org/campuses"><span style="font-weight: 400;">locations across the country</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> as well as through the </span><a href="https://virtual.aopsacademy.org/"><span style="font-weight: 400;">virtual campus</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;">. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">As part-time front desk staff at our location in <strong>San Mateo, CA</strong></span><span style="font-weight: 400;"> you will answer phone calls and emails, warmly welcome both current and prospective students and their families, and act as the friendly face of AoPS Academy while classes are in session. Additionally, in this role you will support campus operations by helping take inventory, tidying up the facility, and assisting the full-time staff with other campus procedures to ensure things are running smoothly. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">This is an </span><strong>in-person, part-time</strong><span style="font-weight: 400;"> position at our </span><strong>San Mateo</strong><span style="font-weight: 400;"> campus. </span><span style="font-weight: 400;">Front Desk hours are weekday afternoons/evenings and weekends during the academic year with Monday through Friday day shifts available during the summer. </span></p>
<p>Note: We are currently looking for candidates who are available to work weekdays and weekends, with some weekend availability required.</p>
<p><strong>Job Responsibilities:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Serve as campus receptionist; answer the phone, respond to voicemails, and pass on relevant information to the appropriate staff member</span></li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Manage and respond to customer inquiries both by phone and email </span></li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Maintain multiple calendars, schedule meetings and ensure everything is up-to-date</span></li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Use internal database to generate reports and lists</span></li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Data entry</span></li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Provide admissions assistance as needed with consultation requests, scheduling, and post-consultation follow-ups</span></li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Organize and prepare classroom and office supplies</span></li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Supervise students between classes</span></li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Perform light cleaning duties; assume responsibility for the organization, operation, and appearance of the lobby and front desk area</span></li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Participate in occasional outreach/in-reach opportunities</span></li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Other duties as assigned</span><span style="font-weight: 400;"><br></span></li>

<p><strong>Required / Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Experience confidently interacting with customers; experience interacting with families and students (elementary through high school) preferred</span></li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Strong organizational and computer skills</span></li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Excellent verbal and written communication skills; knowledge of correct grammar, spelling, and English usage </span></li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Establish and maintain positive, effective working relationships with students, parents, staff, and the general public </span></li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Ability to work both independently and collaboratively</span></li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Maintain flexibility to effectively solve problems under pressure</span></li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;">Administrative and/or customer service experience</li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;">Proficiency with Google Workspace applications (i.e. Docs, Sheets, Calendar, etc.)</li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;">Motivated to learn new technologies</li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;">Maintain customer confidentiality</li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;">Excited about our mission of motivating high-performing students</li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;">Lift up to 25lbs</li>
