Full Stack Engineer, Reporting Systems - Contract 6mo

<p>Polychain is seeking a versatile Full Stack Engineer to architect and build the data pipelines, APIs, and user interfaces that power our reporting systems. You’ll work across the stack—from ingesting crypto-asset data from exchanges and block explorers, to building performant APIs, to designing intuitive dashboards that help portfolio managers monitor holdings, vesting schedules, and counterparty risk.</p> <h2><span style="font-size: 12pt;"><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></span></h2> <h3><span style="font-size: 10pt;"><strong>Backend API Development</strong></span></h3> <ul> <li>Design, implement, and secure REST/GraphQL endpoints for both on-chain and off-chain data.</li> <li>Automate data ingestion from exchanges, DeFi protocols, custodians, and OTC counterparties.</li> <li>Optimize data pipelines for reliability, low latency, and secure transmission.<br><br></li> </ul> <h3><span style="font-size: 10pt;"><strong>Data Normalization and Storage</strong></span></h3> <ul> <li>Normalize diverse crypto data types (trades, transfers, vesting events, price feeds).</li> <li>Manage both relational and NoSQL databases; fine-tune indexing and partitioning strategies.</li> <li>Write performant queries to power real-time dashboards and analytics.<br><br></li> </ul> <h3><span style="font-size: 10pt;"><strong>Frontend &amp; UX</strong></span></h3> <ul> <li>Build and maintain accounting dashboards using React and TypeScript (or similar frameworks).</li> <li>Translate complex datasets into intuitive visualizations—tables, charts, KPIs.</li> <li>Follow best practices in state management, testing, and accessibility.<br><br></li> </ul> <h3><span style="font-size: 10pt;"><strong>Systems Integration</strong></span></h3> <ul> <li>Integrate internal microservices, third-party APIs, and on-chain data sources.</li> <li>Extend or maintain low-code tooling (e.g., Retool) when it accelerates delivery.<br><br></li> </ul> <h3><span style="font-size: 10pt;"><strong>Cross-Functional Collaboration</strong></span></h3> <ul> <li>Work closely with teams across Asset Operations, Finance, and Investments to gather requirements and iterate on solutions.</li> <li>Document APIs, data models, and UI components to support easy handoffs and team scaling.<br><br></li> </ul> <h3><span style="font-size: 10pt;"><strong>Compliance &amp; Security</strong></span></h3> <ul> <li>Uphold data privacy principles and enforce crypto-specific security best practices.</li> <li>Participate in code reviews and contribute to threat modeling and secure architecture.<br><br></li> </ul> <h2><span style="font-size: 12pt;"><strong>Requirements</strong></span></h2> <p><span style="font-size: 10pt;"><strong>Required:</strong></span></p> <ul> <li>Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or related field.</li> <li>3–5 years of professional full-stack engineering experience.</li> <li>Backend proficiency with Go, Node.js, or Python.</li> <li>Frontend expertise with React and TypeScript (or equivalent).</li> <li>Proven experience designing, building, and consuming APIs at scale, ideally involving crypto or fintech data.</li> <li>Advanced SQL skills and comfort working with Postgres, BigQuery, or similar.</li> <li>Experience visualizing data using tools like D3, Recharts, or Plotly.</li> <li>Solid understanding of blockchain fundamentals: on-chain transactions, smart contract events, and DeFi protocols.</li> <li>Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams.</li> <li>Comfortable working in ambiguity and iterating quickly in a fast-paced environment.</li> </ul> <p><br><br></p> <p>Competitive Compensation:&nbsp; $150/hour (dependent on experience).</p> <p><em>Polychain is an equal opportunity workplace and is an affirmative action &nbsp; &nbsp; employer.&nbsp;Polychain does not make hiring or employment decisions on the basis of race, color, religion, creed, gender, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, marital status, pregnancy, sex, gender expression or identity, sexual orientation, citizenship, or any other basis protected by applicable local, state or federal law.&nbsp;We also consider qualified applicants with criminal histories, consistent with applicable federal, state and local law.</em></p>
