Job Summary

Under the general direction of the Maintenance manager, maintain all buildings, equipment, swimming pool, restrooms and surrounding areas of the Grand Turk cruise center.                      

Job Requirements

Basic education

General knowledge of all maintenance areas (i.e. plumbing, landscaping, trash collection)

Must have basic customer service

Ability to work in an outdoor environment

Basic understanding of hand and electrical tools usage

 

To carry out the functions of GENERAL MAINTENANCE as follows: 

 

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to and may be amended from time to time:

• Maintains all buildings, plazas, carrettas and all facilities in optimum condition.
• Ensure thorough knowledge of GTCC equipment and systems
• Operate mechanical equipment to ensure long life of systems
• Keep the GTCC buildings in like-new condition
• Use hand tools and assigned powered/non-powered equipment
• Make repairs as necessary to GTCC facilities
• Inform the Maintenance Manager of required repairs
• Make recommendations to Maintenance Manager when repairs are beyond the scope of the Maintenance Team
• Keep the restrooms clean and functional at all times
• Maintains Cabanas in optimum condition
• Assists with cleaning the beach when necessary
• Assists in Line Handling for docking ships as needed.
• Performs other tasks as assigned by the Maintenance Manager
• Conforms to the policies and procedures established by Grand Turk Cruise Center
• Provide superior customer service and represent the Nation of Turks and Caicos Islands in a manner which upholds the highest standards
• Any other business related tasks as directed or requested by the Employer from time to time.

• • Ability to speak English clearly, distinctly and cordially with employees and guests
  • Ability to read and write English in order to understand and interpret written procedures. This includes the ability to give and receive instructions in written and verbal forms and to effectively present information and respond to questions from guests, managers and co-workers.

Physical Requirements

• • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to touch, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear; and taste and smell. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • All island employees must be physically able to participate in emergency lifesaving procedures and drills. Full use/range of motion of arms and legs as well as full visual, verbal and hearing abilities are required to receive and give instructions in the event of an emergency.
