About the role
<p><strong>Project site is currently TBD.</strong></p>
<p>The General Superintendent/Construction Manager position will supervise assigned project activities, including overseeing all field operations, site safety, productivity, schedule, quality work, subcontractors and suppliers. The GS/CM will coordinate and work in conjunction with the Project Manager leading the project team. Specific responsibilities are:</p>
<ul>
<li>Monitor subcontractors and trades to meet deadlines and milestones of aggressively paced project schedules</li>
<li>Must have strong background knowledge of <u>CSA and/or MEP construction methods.</u></li>
<li>Must have experience with large scale cast-in-place concrete projects.</li>
<li>Must work closely with Project Managers, Project Engineers, and other superintendents</li>
<li>Review construction drawings and shop drawings for job feasibility</li>
<li>Ensure adherence to strict safety standards ensuring Subcontractors are properly trained and knowledgeable with OSHA and safety related areas</li>
<li>Completion of daily and weekly Project Reports</li>
<li>Responsible for daily reporting in construction management software</li>
<li>Document status of project with digital photographs daily</li>
<li>Must be able to properly receive purchased materials</li>
<li>Prepare change orders as required</li>
<li>Responsible for QA and punch list generation with Subcontractors</li>
</ul>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>Requirements:</strong></span></p>
<ul>
<li>Ability to effectively use a computer and required software (Procore, Microsoft Office, MS Project)</li>
<li>Ability to read and interpret construction drawings.</li>
<li>Knowledge of applicable federal, state and local building codes and safety laws</li>
<li>Knowledge of permitting, review and inspection process</li>
<li>Ability to monitor and respond to multiple scopes of work occurring simultaneously</li>
<li>Ability to forecast scheduling challenges and present possible solutions</li>
<li>Ability to complete all assigned tasks and responsibilities.</li>
<li>Ability to be alert to all that is taking place on the job site.</li>
<li>Ability to show truthfulness and honesty in all situations.</li>
<li>Ability to be decisive and to recognize key factors and provide input to make difficult decisions.</li>
<li>Ability to work effectively in a team environment.</li>
</ul>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>Work Experience: </strong></span></p>
<ul>
<li>Minimum of 10+ years of experience as an on-site Superintendent/Construction Manager; experience with above listed responsibilities. </li>
<li>Knowledge of construction trades with focus on sitework, concrete, steel, MEP, and interior finishes.</li>
<li>Experience with cast in place concrete and shotcrete is strongly preferred.</li>
<li>Must possess a valid driver’s license and be eligible for coverage under the company’s auto insurance policy. DMV checks performed annually. </li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Education Requirements: </strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or related field is preferred. Minimum requirement is a High School diploma, with 15+ years of related experience.</li>
