Job Description: Governance Specialist, Branch Operations Management, COO Office
DBS Bank is seeking a passionate, highly motivated, and dedicated professional to assist our Branch Operations Management (BOM) Governance Team within the COO Office. This role is responsible for supporting the optimization and management of robust risk control and operational excellence across our branch network.
Key Responsibilities:
Risk Control and Regulatory Compliance:
- Collaborate with the Branch Operations Management team to establish a strong risk-controlled branch operating environment.
- Assist the team in simplifying risk and control processes, and actively seek opportunities for improvement within existing processes, to enhance branch operational smoothness and regulatory compliance.
- Work closely with colleagues within the department on Anti-Money Laundering (AML)/Know Your Customer (KYC)/Customer Due Diligence (CDD)/Legal & Compliance (L&C)/Self-Inspection (SI) to establish efficient communication between relevant departments and branch operations staff.
- Familiarize with branch audit and compliance matters to ensure the BOM team and branch operations team operate smoothly within the bank's regulatory framework.
- Support branches in executing SI and SACA items, ensuring high-quality and satisfactory branch operational execution.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders across various teams and levels to ensure seamless branch operations. Guide and support branch operations teams in their day-to-day tasks, providing crucial assistance and direction.
- Organize and analyze daily operational management and related regulatory reports to ensure compliance with required regulatory requirements and identify opportunities for process or operational improvements.
Operational Enhancement and Innovation:
- Strengthen risk control awareness among branch operations staff, providing regular updates and training to foster a sound risk control mindset and enhance the overall quality of the branch operating environment.
- Innovate operational processes to minimize manual controls, leveraging systematic, automated, and organized methods to assist branch operations staff in strengthening relevant processes to meet regulatory requirements.
- Proactive Problem Solving & Issue Resolution: Proactively identify, analyze, and resolve operational challenges, proposing and implementing effective, data-driven solutions.
- Demonstrate strong teamwork and high-performance collaboration.
Qualifications:
- Over 2 years of experience in branch operations, risk management, particularly within a branch operations environment.
- Strong understanding of Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Know Your Customer (KYC), Customer Due Diligence (CDD), Compliance, Audit / Regulations, and all banking knowledge.
- Experience in optimizing operational processes.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to drive a culture of continuous improvement and risk awareness.
- A supportive and collaborative team player who enjoys achieving success together with the team.
