About the role

Impact Coordinator Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of ~75 sites within the Girls on the Run territory. This role will oversee all sites that have a student population of 0%–49% low-income and throughout all GOTRC counties
  • Support the team in serving 5,220 participants in 2026, 80% living in under-resourced communities in the spring and 75% in the fall. While also planning to increase the number of participants living in under-resourced communities by 5-10% each year for the next 5 years
  • Provide quality support and customer service to assigned program sites and volunteers throughout their recruitment and launch cycle
  • Monitor sites, coaches, teams, and participants registering and address barriers that prevent these stakeholders from participating in programming
  • Develop meaningful and impactful stewardship opportunities for coaches including but not limited to: Thank-you cards for coaches, mid-season coach social, 5K information session
  • Collaborate with the Impact staff to continuously improve program delivery
  • Serve as the event staff at the Girls on the Run Chicago 5K
  • Monitor community coach applications ensuring compliance with volunteer requirements
  • Lead on placing community coaches to sites regularly; track progress toward goal 
  • Develop and refine best practices for community coach recruitment, training and placement 
  • Seasonally engage portfolio sites by conducting at least four in-person site visits
  • Build a community coach program to strategically recruit coaches to be reflective of the communities we serve 
  • Attend and assist at events including, but not limited to: Partner Expos, Girls on the Run Chicago 5K, New Coach Training, community events, and fundraising events in support of our recruitment and outreach goals
  • Conduct outreach efforts to engage potential new sites in order to build programming in line with organizational goals and strategy
  • Ensure the department database records are updated and maintained: participant records, new and returning site records, volunteer information and notes, day-to-day tracking and processing of sites and volunteers, coach training dates, CPR training dates, background checks, etc.
  • Respond to incoming telephone inquiries Monday–Friday, 9 a.m.–5 p.m., act as the first responder for program-specific calls and Spanish line, route other calls accordingly
  • Support our Operations Manager as a project manager of the GOTR Chicago spring large-scale 5k planning and execution
  • Provide support to the Coach Training program for GOTRC: remain current and knowledgeable of policies and procedures established by GOTR HQ, specific to the training of our volunteers
  • Act as a facilitator for in-person coach training
  • Ensure all volunteers within your portfolio are registered for and complete coach training

Your Strengths

  • Fluent in written and spoken English and Spanish
  • Reliable transportation: Ability to travel within eight-county territory (Cook, DuPage, Grundy, Kane, Kankakee, Kendall, Lake, Will) 
  • Expected to be in the community 3 days a week September-November and March-May.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends, with a willingness to fill in as needed for organizational requirements
  • Employment is contingent on successful completion of a background check and verification of employment eligibility

Work Environment, Salary, and Benefits

  • Flexible work schedule within our core business hours of 10 AM to 3 PM
  •  In-office two days per week; work from home three days per week
