We have strong customers, product-market fit, and positioning. Now we’re looking for exceptional operators to help accelerate growth alongside the founders and leadership team.</p> <p>This is not a traditional functional role. You’ll join the core team at a moment where every decision materially shapes the company’s trajectory.</p> <h3><strong>The Role:</strong></h3> <p>We’re hiring a Growth &amp; Strategy Lead: a high-agency generalist who thrives in ambiguity and moves fast. This person combines analytical rigor, structured problem-solving, creative instinct, and relentless execution.</p> <p>You likely started in consulting or another rigorous analytical environment, then moved into startups as a founder, early employee, or operator. You know how to build without a playbook, wear multiple hats, and ship quickly.</p> <p>You’re hands-on, low ego, and highly resourceful. You use AI, automation, and modern tooling to create outsized leverage and move with speed. You can turn a blank page into a campaign, workflow, event, narrative, or system and iterate rapidly from there.</p> <p>This role works closely with the Head of Marketing and executive team as a force multiplier across the business. One week might include launching campaigns, testing growth experiments, building automations, supporting sales strategy, and executing executive events.</p> <p>We move fast, priorities shift constantly, and adaptability is essential. You should thrive in high-intensity environments and be motivated by building something meaningful from the ground up.</p> <h2><strong>What You’ll Do:&nbsp;</strong></h2> <h3><strong>Operate Across the Business:</strong></h3> <p>Act as a high-leverage utility player on the core team. Turn ambiguous asks into finished deliverables across growth, operations, content, events, systems, and strategy.</p> <ul> <li>Take a one-line idea from leadership and turn it into execution</li> <li>Build campaigns, narratives, workflows, analyses, and experiments from scratch</li> <li>Bring strong creative instincts across copy, messaging, positioning, and brand</li> <li>Think from first principles and move quickly without waiting for perfect clarity</li> </ul> <h3><strong>Use AI &amp; Automation as Force Multipliers:</strong></h3> <p>Leverage AI, automation, and modern tooling to operate with outsized impact.</p> <ul> <li>Build systems that automate repetitive work and increase company throughput</li> <li>Use tools like n8n, Zapier, Claude, Clay, Salesforce, Pardot, and HockeyStack</li> <li>Partner with engineering and product on integrations and workflow automation</li> <li>Stay current on emerging AI tools and identify what creates real leverage</li> </ul> <h3><strong>Drive Growth:</strong></h3> <p>Own growth initiatives end-to-end, from strategy through execution and measurement.</p> <ul> <li>Launch and optimize pipeline-generating campaigns across paid, outbound, and experimental channels</li> <li>Run rapid growth experiments and double down on what works</li> <li>Build outbound and ABM programs using tools like Lemlist, Clay, ZoomInfo, and Pardot</li> <li>Identify unconventional growth opportunities others overlook</li> </ul> <h3><strong>Shape Messaging &amp; Narrative:</strong></h3> <p>Help define how Shelf communicates its value to the market.</p> <ul> <li>Write landing pages, ad copy, sales collateral, customer communications, and executive content</li> <li>Translate complex product concepts into clear, compelling messaging</li> <li>Support launches, vertical positioning, and competitive narratives</li> <li>Develop customer stories, proof points, and brand content</li> </ul> <h3><strong>Build Systems &amp; Insights:</strong></h3> <p>Own the infrastructure behind growth execution and reporting.</p> <ul> <li>Maintain automation workflows and GTM systems</li> <li>Build attribution and reporting across Salesforce, HockeyStack, and Gong</li> <li>Improve CRM hygiene, enrichment, and operational efficiency</li> </ul> <h3><strong>Support Content, Events &amp; Community:</strong></h3> <p>Help scale Shelf’s brand and audience through content and field marketing initiatives.</p> <ul> <li>Contribute to the growth of Augmented U and related community efforts</li> <li>Support executive dinners, field events, and industry conferences</li> <li>Help execute high-quality experiences across content, events, and follow-up</li> </ul> <h2><strong>Who You Are:</strong></h2> <ul> <li>8–10 years of experience with the ability to contribute across functions from day one</li> <li>Background in team sports or other highly competitive environments; collaborative, resilient, and team-first</li> <li>Strong analytical and communication skills with a rigorous educational foundation</li> <li>Experience in top-tier consulting, strategy, or similarly demanding problem-solving environments</li> <li>Early-stage startup experience, ideally as a founder, founding team member, or early operator</li> <li>Based in or near New York City and excited to work in person with the team</li> </ul> <h3><strong>How You Work:</strong></h3> <ul> <li>You think from first principles and operate comfortably in ambiguity</li> <li>You’re hands-on, low ego, and focused on impact over titles</li> <li>You use AI, automation, and modern tooling as leverage, not novelty</li> <li>You’re a strong writer who can adapt messaging across audiences and channels</li> <li>You bring original ideas, strong creative instincts, and clear points of view</li> <li>You move quickly, iterate fast, and bias toward execution over perfection</li> <li>You thrive in fast-moving environments and are motivated by building something meaningful alongside exceptional people</li> </ul> <h3><strong>What we offer:</strong></h3> <ul> <li>A seat on the core team at the most critical inflection point in our company's history</li> <li>Competitive compensation, commensurate with experience</li> <li>Generous equity grant in company stock options</li> <li>Comprehensive health and wellness packages</li> <li>Open PTO</li> <li>Realistic, clearly communicated expectations</li> <li>Team-wide aligned values and goals</li> </ul>
