About the role

We believe gymnastics is one of the best foundations to have for kids to succeed in life - and it can be a lot of fun to teach.  We are seeking part-time former gymnasts who want to share their experiences as instructors for gymnastics at all levels - preschool, recreational, and competitive levels.  CSC is a great place to work with an unmatched energy and level of support to all its staff.  Apply and find your next part-time job, or a possible lifetime career at CSC.  You're going to love working here.

Purpose:  Provide school-aged children building blocks for success through the physical activity of gymnastics. Instructors are expected to bring professionalism, enthusiasm, safe practices, and their own unique strengths to their teaching, while following all guidelines as outlined in the Rec Instructor Handbook. CSC has a curriculum which must be incorporated into all lessons.

Success in this position is measured by each instructor’s ability to build their own classes, develop positive relationships with students and parents, and graduate students up to the next level.

Instructors work for the Site Manager, and teach with the support and guidance of a Coordinator who is in charge of setting the standards of instruction for the programs. Instructors also implement and/or promote specific themes, skills, goals, projects, and events, as assigned.

CSC Instructors also enthusiastically collaborate with site leadership to refine the customer experience - to the benefit of all students, parents, and staff.

Ultimately, CSC’s priorities define the position:

  1. To TEACH.
  2. To provide OUTSTANDING CUSTOMER SERVICE.
  3. To provide a SAFE AND HEALTHY ENVIRONMENT for all.
  4. To have FUN (and encourage others to have fun).

  • A passion for working with children.
  • Complete all ‘conditions of employment’ for the position.
  • Able to lift/assist athletes assigned (minimum 45 lbs.)
  • Experience in child related services, or youth sports coaching is expected.
  • Bonus = having a background as an athlete in competitive sports – especially gymnastics, or a proven background in teaching.

Confidently leads groups of children.  Knowledge – Develops a strong understanding of beginner & intermediate gymnastics concepts.  Utilizes appropriate skill progressions & development, and knows all associated terminology.  Communication – Demonstrates strong communication skills with parents & students, fellow coaches, and CSC office staff & management.
