We are a global institution focused on making scientists, teachers, and students more effective and efficient.</p> <p>Our integrated ecosystem focuses on fundamental technology needs relevant to science and education: generative AI, MetaPresence, computing, robotics, energy, health &amp; bio, and neuroscience. <a href="https://constructor.org/">Constructor Group</a> consists of three main pillars – <a href="https://constructor.org/knowledge">Constructor Knowledge</a>, <a>Constructor Capital</a>, and <a href="https://constructor.tech/?__hstc=100175169.8b0f85aa87aedb5f1cdd10e6c30d8a9b.1778592930857.1778592930857.1778592930857.1&amp;__hssc=100175169.5.1778592430017&amp;__hsfp=97c674a0edf8603ac2ef39b43750c9e0">Constructor Tech</a> – uniting science, technology, and education around a single deeply fundamental and yet very applied mission.</p> <p><strong>ABOUT THE ROLE</strong></p> <p>Constructor Group is looking for a Head of Engineering to lead the company’s technology and software development function.</p> <p>This role is responsible for defining and executing the technology strategy, managing engineering teams, ensuring high-quality product delivery, and building scalable, reliable, and secure technology solutions.</p> <p>The ideal candidate is a strong technical leader with a hands-on engineering background, experience managing development teams, and the ability to align technology decisions with business goals.</p> <p><strong>KEY RESPONSIBILITIES</strong></p> <ul> <li>Lead the software development function and manage engineering teams.</li> <li>Define and execute the technology strategy in alignment with business and product goals.</li> <li>Own the development roadmap together with product, business, and executive stakeholders.</li> <li>Ensure timely and high-quality delivery of software products and technical solutions.</li> <li>Build scalable, secure, and reliable architecture.</li> <li>Review and improve engineering processes, development standards, code quality, and release management.</li> <li>Manage technical priorities, resource allocation, and delivery risks.</li> <li>Lead, mentor, and develop engineering managers, team leads, architects, and developers.</li> <li>Support recruitment, onboarding, and performance management for technical teams.</li> <li>Drive best practices in software development, testing, DevOps, security, and documentation.</li> <li>Evaluate and select technologies, tools, frameworks, and vendors when needed.</li> <li>Communicate technical decisions, risks, and progress to senior leadership in a clear, business-oriented way.</li> </ul> <p><strong>REQUIREMENTS</strong></p> <ul> <li>Proven experience as a CTO, Head of Engineering, VP Engineering, Head of Development, or similar senior technology leadership role.</li> <li>Strong hands-on background in software engineering and system architecture.</li> <li>Experience managing engineering teams and technical managers.</li> <li>Strong understanding of modern software development practices, cloud infrastructure, DevOps, CI/CD, security, and scalable architecture.</li> <li>Experience delivering complex digital products or platforms.</li> <li>Ability to balance strategic technology vision with hands-on execution.</li> <li>Strong leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.</li> <li>Experience working in fast-paced, international, or matrix organizations.</li> <li>Excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.</li> <li><strong>Fluent English and Spanish are required</strong></li> </ul> <p><strong>NICE TO HAVE</strong></p> <ul> <li>Experience in EdTech, SaaS, AI, data platforms, enterprise software, or digital learning products.</li> <li>Experience with distributed international engineering teams.</li> <li>Experience in technical transformation, platform modernization, or scaling engineering organizations.</li> <li>Previous startup or scale-up experience.</li> </ul> <p><strong>SUCCESS IN THIS ROLE LOOKS LIKE</strong></p> <ul> <li>A clear and realistic technology roadmap is in place.</li> <li>Engineering teams deliver predictably and with high quality.</li> <li>Technical architecture supports business growth and product scalability.</li> <li>Communication between product, engineering, and business stakeholders is smooth.</li> <li>Development processes become more structured, transparent, and efficient.</li> </ul>
