Head of Engineering - Bengaluru

Looking for a senior engineering leader to drive large-scale product and engineering initiatives at Upgrad. This role is close to a CTO-level mandate with ownership across engineering strategy, team leadership, and AI-driven innovation.

Requirements

• 12+ years of software engineering experience

• Experience leading large engineering teams and managers

• Strong background in scalable consumer or SaaS products

• Hands-on understanding of system architecture and engineering best practices

• Experience working on AI/ML or GenAI use cases is preferred

• Strong product thinking and business understanding

• Experience hiring and building high-performing engineering teams

• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills

• Someone who has worked on consumer scale products is the best fit for this role

Responsibilities

• Lead and scale multiple engineering teams

• Drive engineering strategy, architecture, and execution

• Collaborate closely with product and business leaders

• Build scalable systems and engineering processes

• Mentor engineering managers and senior engineers
