American Terawatt is building a new industrial electric grid for the United States. Building infrastructure at our scale requires exceptional project management.

We design and deploy advanced power transmission systems, serving large industrial loads, hundreds of megawatts at a time.

Our systems deliver electric power to everything from frontier AI datacenters to highly automated manufacturing, refineries, mines, and more.

The backbone of American Terawatt’s network is based on long-distance HVDC transmission, anchored by software-defined ‘Macrogrids’ which actively manage local transmission between generation, storage, and loads.

The Role

As Head of Project Management at American Terawatt, you will:

• Ensure our transmission development projects are delivered on time and within budget, from groundbreaking through commissioning.

• Take delivery of transmission hardware and manage installation, testing, and commissioning. Verify that installation

• Proactively remediate problems, routing around obstacles before they become delays.

• Manage on-site testing and commissioning of deployed systems, coordinating across contractors, utilities, and internal teams.

Experience

This is a senior role requiring significant prior energy project construction experience.

Required Experience

• Demonstrated track record as a builder — you have managed GCs and EPCs and delivered complex energy projects in the field.

• Direct experience managing construction timelines, budgets, and contractor relationships across multiple concurrent workstreams.

• Natural leadership presence — comfortable with executives and equally comfortable with the crew in the dirt.

• Working knowledge of grid interconnection processes, permitting, utility coordination, and realistic delivery timelines.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in energy, power, utilities, or heavy industrial construction.

• Extensive prior relationships with EPCs and general contractors in a variety of locations, particularly throughout the southwest (CA, NM, AZ, TX).

• Familiarity with high-voltage or long-distance transmission infrastructure deployment.

Position Details

This position reports directly to the COO, and will be directly responsible as the on-the-ground lead on specific project sites, as well as managing delivery across all development.
