Head of Software Testing (f/m/d)

A growing tech company in the medical software space helps development teams build secure and reliable applications by automating compliance and quality workflows. Seeking a leader to own the overall quality strategy and ensure each software release meets high standards for safety, reliability, performance, and compliance. The role includes managing a QA team, expanding automated test coverage, and collaborating closely with Engineering, Product, and DevOps.

• Lead and develop the Quality Engineering team

• Plan and coordinate verification & validation for software releases

• Scale automated testing with Playwright, TypeScript, and Cucumber

• Represent Quality Engineering across the organization and key stakeholders

• Own verification & validation activities end-to-end

• Apply quality principles at scale and manage risks

• Define and communicate key metrics for test automation and product quality

• More than 10 years in software quality, including 3 years in a management role

• Experience working in a startup or scale-up environment is required

• Strong QA methodology expertise and hands-on experience with automated testing (e.g., Playwright/Cypress)

• Familiarity with BDD (e.g., Cucumber)

• Experience working in a startup or scale-up environment is required

• Experience building scalable testing processes in fast-growing environments

• Location: ideally Vienna, willigness to move; existing Austrian work permit required

The gross annual salary starts at €100.000. The final package will be tailored based on your experience and qualifications.
