About the role

  • Ensure compliance with Irish health & safety legislation, company policies, and internal management systems, maintaining accurate documentation and records.
  • Conduct workplace inspections, audits, risk assessments, and ergonomic assessments, identifying opportunities to improve safety performance and reduce risk.
  • Lead incident investigations, track corrective and preventative actions, and ensure actions are completed within agreed timescales.
  • Coordinate emergency preparedness activities, including fire drills, evacuation procedures, emergency equipment management, and First Aid coverage.
  • Manage health & safety training programmes, inductions, compliance training, and training records for employees and contractors.
  • Support internal and external audits, regulatory inspections, and compliance reviews, ensuring audit findings are effectively closed out.
  • Work closely with Workplace, Facilities, and operational teams to support contractor management, permit-to-work processes, workplace projects, and the ongoing maintenance of a safe and compliant working environment.
  • Diploma or Degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Health & Safety, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in a Health & Safety role, with a strong understanding of Irish health & safety legislation and compliance requirements.
  • Proven experience conducting audits, inspections, risk assessments, and managing corrective actions.
  • Experience coordinating health & safety training programmes, inductions, and compliance initiatives.
  • Strong administrative, reporting, and organisational skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and promote a positive safety culture across the business.
  • Experience with ISO 45001 management systems, IOSH membership, First Aid qualifications, or experience within workplace/facilities environments would be advantageous.
