Job Summary
We are looking for a skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic to support our growing operations with expert maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of cranes, forklifts, trucks, engines, hydraulic, and AMP container systems. This role is essential to ensuring our equipment stays safe, reliable, and ready for operations. You’ll work in a dynamic environment where your mechanical and hydraulic knowledge is valued, and where every day brings a new challenge to solve.
Key Responsibilities
Heavy Equipment Repair & Maintenance
- Perform mechanical and hydraulic troubleshooting on cranes, forklifts, trucks, engines, and related heavy equipment.
- Diagnose and repair hydraulic components including pumps, cylinders, valves, hoses, and fittings.
- Conduct maintenance and repairs on AMP containers as it relates to the hydraulic and mechanical systems.
- Complete preventive maintenance, inspections, and safety checks according to established procedures.
- Carry out repairs and replacements on key mechanical and hydraulic components as needed.
- Maintain accurate service records, work orders, and parts usage logs.
Workshop & Inventory Support
- Assist with workshop organization, tool upkeep, and equipment readiness.
- Track parts usage, support inventory counts, and communicate restocking needs.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and compliant work environment.
Facility Support
- Perform minor facility maintenance tasks such as basic repairs, equipment checks, and general upkeep.
- Support vendor coordination for facility‑related needs when directed.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years experience maintaining and repairing heavy equipment.
- Strong mechanical and hydraulic repair skills.
- Experience with cranes, forklifts, trucks, or similar industrial equipment.
- Ability to read and follow service manuals, diagrams, and written instructions.
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs unassisted.
- Ability to work overtime as needed.
- Ability to obtain a TWIC card (Transportation Worker Identification Credential).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in port or industrial environments.
- Familiarity with hydraulic/mechanical units.
Working Conditions
- This position requires onsite work, with responsibilities carried out at our designated facility or job location.
- Working conditions are marine/industrial environments which require the use of company uniform and safety equipment, to include but not limited to safety glasses, hearing protection, steel toe work boots, hardhat and safety vests.
- Available to work flexible, on-call hours, including varying and unpredictable shift schedules.
- Regular local travel with occasional international trips as required.
Other
- Must be able to pass a drug screening and background check upon request for customer site access. A clean driving record is required.
