<p><strong>Coho Technology Solutions</strong> is seeking a skilled and safety-conscious <strong>High Voltage Electrician</strong> to support electrical infrastructure projects and operations for U.S. Navy installations. The ideal candidate will be experienced in installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of medium to high voltage electrical distribution systems and related equipment. This role includes working with cathodic protection systems, power generators (gas and diesel), transformers, and airfield lighting systems.</p>
<p>This role is at NSA Bethesda.</p>
<p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Operate and maintain medium voltage (1kV–35kV) systems and, where applicable, 69kV Navy systems.</li>
<li>Inspect, repair, and test a wide range of electrical components including underground cable systems, switches (oil, SF6, air), transformers, ground grid systems, and fuses.</li>
<li>Troubleshoot electrical issues using specialized tools: multimeters, meggers, ammeters, cable locators, fault finders, high-potential test equipment, etc.</li>
<li>Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, engineering drawings, and technical manuals.</li>
<li>Follow all safety protocols including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), NFPA 70E standards, and PPE requirements. No live (hot) work is permitted without prior written authorization.</li>
<li>Respond to electrical service calls and emergencies, ensuring systems remain operational.</li>
<li>Maintain and repair airfield lighting systems, including runway and taxiway lights, beacons, current regulators, optical landing systems, and control systems.</li>
<li>Pull and install underground cables, splice and terminate cables using appropriate kits and sealing methods.</li>
<li>Inspect and maintain transformers and perform oil sampling for analysis.</li>
<li>Operate commercial vehicles (Class B CDL required), bucket trucks, and pole auger trucks.</li>
<li>Perform ground testing, vault inspections, manhole maintenance, and bonding repairs.</li>
<li>Review and verify contractor work complies with NEC, OSHA, and Navy contract specifications.</li>
<li>Maintain street lighting systems and traffic signal controls.</li>

<p><strong>Required Qualifications</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Minimum of <strong>5 years’ experience</strong> in high/medium voltage electrical work.</li>
<li>Proven knowledge of:
<ul>
<li>Electrical theory, circuit analysis, and system operations</li>
<li>Industrial electrical installation and troubleshooting</li>
<li>Cable splicing, jointing, and insulation methods</li>
<li>Safe work practices around energized systems and confined spaces</li>
</ul>
</li>
<li>Proficient in using hand and power tools (e.g., pliers, screwdrivers, soldering tools, hydraulic benders).</li>
<li>Ability to interpret and work from technical documentation.</li>
<li>Valid <strong>Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)</strong>.</li>
<li>Completion of the <strong>OSHA 10-Hour Construction Training Course</strong> within 45 days of employment (or current certification).</li>

<p><strong>Physical & Environmental Requirements</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Ability to work in environments exposed to high temperatures, noise, rotating machinery, soot, chemicals, oil, and fumes.</li>
<li>Physically capable of standing, walking, climbing, bending, and crouching for extended periods.</li>
<li>Must be able to lift and carry equipment up to 40 lbs independently, and over 40 lbs with assistance.</li>
