About the role
Role & Responsibilities:-
As a Shipping Supervisor, your role will involve independently handling various logistics tasks related to offshore shipment assigned by Logistic Manager and ensuring their efficient execution. within the Hong Kong division.
Freight Management:
- Coordinate with shipping agents and freight carriers to get freight rates, book shipments, and handle goods across various countries or regions.
- Evaluate transportation options, plan goods transport, and analyze benchmarks for common routes to optimize logistics efficiency.
Order Management:
- Manage the entire order process, including purchase and sales orders, ensuring accuracy and resolving any issues that arise.
- Work with internal teams like sales and procurement to streamline order processing and ensure timely order fulfillment.
Documentation and Compliance:
- Take charge of issuing, verifying, and managing transport and cargo documents, ensuring compliance with regulations and standards.
- Stay updated on import and export regulations and ensure adherence to customs and vendors requirements.
Customer and Supplier Relations:
- Maintain direct communication with international customers, suppliers, and carriers, addressing their logistics-related inquiries, concerns, and requirements.
- Build strong relationships with key stakeholders to ensure smooth logistics operations and customer satisfaction.
Data Management and Analysis:
- Accurately enter data, ensuring timely and accurate updates of shipment information and delivery dates in the system.
- Use data analysis tools to monitor logistics performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective measures.
Inventory Control:
- Manage inventory control processes, including monitoring and updating inventory positions for warehouses.
- Coordinate intercompany stock movements and reconcile stock balances with warehouses to maintain accurate inventory records.
Project Participation:
- Actively participate in assigned ad-hoc projects, providing logistical expertise and contributing to their successful execution.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure effective project coordination and implementation.
Requirements: -
- Degree holder preferably in Logistics/Transportation Management with at least 10 years solid experience in order processing.
- Experience in handling hazardous materials is preferred.
- Good operational logistics skills in ground, sea, and air transport of cargo.
- Good knowledge in shipping documentations, forwarder and supplier’s management.
- Experience in planning offshore shipments with good tactical skills in controlling the works are done by overseas counterparties.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
- Strong interpersonal skills to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Good command of both written and spoken English.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, advance Excel skill.
