We are looking for a courteous, outgoing individual to make and confirm reservations and performfeedback calls by phone. A polite and friendly phone presence is a must. Host responsibilities include learning our computer reservation system (OpenTable), managing reservations, seating guests, answering phone calls, making reservations and light cleaning in the host and surrounding areas. Our host will also show guests how to leave the restaurant and answer questions regarding events, layout of the restaurant and history.

We want to meet you if you enjoy talking to people and thrive in a fast-paced workplace. Your ultimate goal will be to provide high-quality service that will help us maintain and attract customers. Restaurant experience is nice but not required. A friendly, positive attitude is required.

We are looking for night shift positions with some day shifts possible. Please see schedule below.

Responsibilities

• Make and confirm reservations

• Manage table availability

• Manage a wait list (if needed)

• Call guests for feedback

• Collaborate with other restaurant staff

• Deal with complaints or problems with a positive attitude

• Seat guests in the appropriate section

• Maintain a manageable reservation spread

Skills

• Knowing OpenTable reservation system a plus

• Attention to cleanliness and safety

• Patience and customer-oriented approach

• Excellent people skills with a friendly attitude

• Responsible and trustworthy

• Ability to communicate effectively on the phone and in person

• High school diploma is a plus but not required

Schedule: Vernon’s Speakeasy is open from Wednesday - Sunday. We take reservations between 4:00 pm - 8:30 pm. A typical day shift would be from 10:30 am - 3:30 pm. A typical night shift would be from 3:30 pm - 9:00 pm Wednesday - Sunday.
