Housekeeper
Job Summary
Under the general direction of the Head or Assistant Head of Maintenance, maintains the Grand Turk Cruise Center offices, outside cabana areas, Restrooms, Plazas and surrounding areas. The Housekeeper reports to the Maintenance Manager at Grand Turk Cruise Center.
Job Requirements
Basic education
Must be physically fit
Basic understanding of chemicals and proper mixtures
Must have basic customer service
Ability to work in an outdoor environment
Previous work experience preferred
Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to and may be amended from time to time:
- Cleans female restrooms and public areas, especially on ship days
- Assists Male Housekeeping Staff to optimize cleanliness of entire complex to include pool areas
- Ensure thorough knowledge of assigned equipment usage
- Ensure that Administrative offices and surrounding employee areas are cleaned
- Inform the Maintenance Manager of requirements and makes suggestions on ways to improve maintenance of restrooms
- Assist Maintenance Manager as deemed necessary
- Promote a safe work environment
- Comply with the safety competencies and all company policies
- Conform to the policies and procedures established by Grand Turk Cruise Center
- Provide superior customer service and represent the Nation of Turks and Caicos Islands in a manner which upholds the highest standards
- Any other business related tasks as directed or requested by the Employer from time to time and such other duties as detailed in the job description for the position.
- LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to speak English clearly, distinctly and cordially with employees and guests
- Ability to read and write English in order to understand and interpret written procedures. This includes the ability to give and receive instructions in written and verbal forms and to effectively present information and respond to questions from guests, managers and co-workers.
- PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to touch, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear; and taste and smell. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
- All island employees must be physically able to participate in emergency lifesaving procedures and drills. Full use/range of motion of arms and legs as well as full visual, verbal and hearing abilities are required to receive and give instructions in the event of an emergency.
