Senior Information Security Engineer

<p>We are looking for a&nbsp;<strong>Senior Information Security Engineer</strong> to join our Information Security Department at Betsson Group in Malta.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <h3>The Wow</h3> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>Our Information Security team plays a critical role across four key pillars: Security Governance, Security Operations, Security Awareness, and Incident Response. As a&nbsp;<strong>Senior Security Engineer</strong>, you will be a trusted technical authority within the team, primarily driving Security Operations while influencing governance, response strategies, and awareness initiatives. This role demands a proactive mindset, strong technical depth, and the ability to collaborate across diverse stakeholders.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <h3>What you’ll be doing</h3> <p><strong>Security Operations (SECOPS)</strong></p> <ul> <li> <p>Lead vulnerability assessments, risk analyses, and advanced security testing.</p> </li> <li> <p>Partner closely with the SOC team to identify, investigate, and mitigate threats, bringing senior-level insight into analysis and response.</p> </li> <li> <p>Evaluate and integrate new technologies, tools, and processes to continuously enhance our security posture.</p> </li> <li> <p>Oversee the consistent application of our physical security policy across all Betsson properties.</p> </li> <li> <p>Manage supplier relationships and ensure the Malta offices’ physical security systems are maintained and optimized.</p> </li> <li> <p>Fine-tune and own key security tools and platforms, ensuring they operate at peak effectiveness.</p> </li> </ul> <p><strong>Incident Response (CSIRT)</strong></p> <ul> <li> <p>Act as a senior escalation point during security incidents, leading forensic investigations and providing after-hours support when required.</p> </li> <li> <p>Develop and refine response playbooks, ensuring best practices are followed across the organization.</p> </li> </ul> <p><strong>Security Governance (GRC)</strong></p> <ul> <li> <p>Provide technical expertise to governance teams during policy creation and updates.</p> </li> <li> <p>Participate in information security reviews, audits, and due diligence activities, representing the technical voice of the department.</p> </li> </ul> <p><strong>Security Awareness Training (SAT)</strong></p> <ul> <li> <p>Contribute to the design and delivery of advanced security awareness programs, helping embed a security-first culture across Betsson.</p> </li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <h3>What we’re looking for</h3> <ul> <li> <p><strong>Education</strong>: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field. A Master’s degree or higher-level qualifications are a strong advantage.</p> </li> <li> <p><strong>Experience</strong>:</p> <ul> <li> <p>5+ years in Information Security, with demonstrable experience in Security Operations and Incident Response.</p> </li> <li> <p>5+ years in broader IT or infrastructure roles.</p> </li> <li> <p>Background in iGaming, telecommunications, or finance is a strong plus.</p> </li> </ul> </li> <li> <p><strong>Certifications</strong>: Security-focused certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CEH, OSCP) are highly valued.</p> </li> <li> <p><strong>Skills</strong>:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Strong knowledge of security tools, SIEMs, and forensic techniques.</p> </li> <li> <p>Broad understanding of GRC principles and risk management frameworks.</p> </li> <li> <p>Excellent communication skills, fluent English (spoken and written), and professional presence.</p> </li> </ul> </li> <li> <p>Ability to influence and collaborate with technical and business teams at all levels.</p> </li> </ul> <p><strong>Reporting line:</strong> This role reports to the Operational Security Manager.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <hr> <h3>&nbsp;</h3> <h2><strong>What we offer</strong></h2> <p><span data-teams="true">Much like a rollercoaster, life at Betsson Group is fast-paced, full of twists and turns, and always exciting.
