<p>&nbsp;</p> <p>ETCH, INC&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</p> <p><u>Instrumentation &amp; Controls Engineer – Job Description</u></p> <p>Baltimore, MD&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Full-time</p> <p>ETCH is a startup commercializing a radically new and efficient decarbonization technology for the simultaneous greenhouse gas-free production of hydrogen and solid carbon from natural gas.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p> <p>The Instrumentation &amp; Controls Engineer position at ETCH, INC will maintain and improve current SCADA systems and perform I&amp;C design for systems under development (controls, instrumentation, data collection, electrical, and connectivity).&nbsp; Primary duties are designing and implementing control logic, developing specifications for PLC control and instrumentation, and guiding control and instrumentation testing for ETCH’s pilot and scale-up reactor.</p> <p>Other duties include:</p> <ul> <li>Design control algorithms, safety loops, and narratives to support testing and general operation</li> <li>Author I&amp;C system hardware descriptions including requirements, functional specifications, and I&amp;C system architecture descriptions.</li> <li>Develop troubleshooting plans and calculation and analysis documents to support design reviews.</li> <li>Author factory acceptance test procedures and develop program for instrument checking, calibration, and testing.</li> <li>Collaborate in the technical oversight and direction of external design teams (engineering firms) and internal design teams.</li> <li>Facilitate and assist in the assessment of customer needs and capture requirements and functions of the I&amp;C design for process systems.</li> <li>Recommend process system design modifications and improvements to improve quality of products and/or procedures from a construction, commissioning, operations, maintenance, and/or decommissioning perspective.</li> <li>Lead reviews and presentations for internal and external design reviews regarding I&amp;C process systems design.</li> <li>Participate in Process Hazards Analysis</li> <li>Design systems in compliance with regulatory requirements such as the National Electric Code</li> <li>Implementation of hardware and software following company policies and procedures such as Management of Change and Lock Out/Tag Out.</li> <li>Flexible work schedule including third shift</li> </ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Minimum 5 years experience in an I&amp;C development role</li> <li>Experience with industrial chemical plants</li> <li>Experience with Allen-Bradley, Schneider, Siemens, or Emerson hardware and software</li> <li>Familiarity with various communications protocols: Modbus TCP, Serial, etc.</li> <li>Familiarity with industrial power (3 phase, 480V, transformer specifications) is a plus</li> <li>Excellent communication skills</li> <li>Must be able to work safely and follow safety precautions in industrial environments (temperature, humidity, noise, confined spaces, etc.)</li> <li>Able to work independently as well as in a team environment toward timely execution of goals</li> </ul> <p>For immediate consideration, please submit your resume to&nbsp; <a href="mailto:jobs@etchmaterials.com">jobs@etchmaterials.com</a>.</p> <p>ETCH is committed to equal opportunity for its employees.
