Role Overview:

Location: Nairobi, Kenya

Contract Type: Independent Contractor Agreement 

Engagement length: 3-12 months

Years of Experience: 3-5 years in a similar role

Qualifications:: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.

Certifications:Advantageous (e.g., ISTQB, CSTE)

Work Model :Hybrid (4 days in office, 1 day remote)

Project Details:

Key Skills

• Strong experience in manual software testing (test case creation, execution, and defect reporting)

• Familiarity with software development life cycle (SDLC) and QA methodologies

• Experience with bug tracking and test management tools (e.g., Jira, TestRail)

• Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills

• Good communication and documentation skills

• Experience with automated testing tools (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, Playwright) is an advantage

• Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and execute manual test cases based on requirements and specifications

• Identify, document, and track software defects and inconsistencies

• Collaborate with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to ensure quality throughout the software development lifecycle

• Participate in requirement reviews and provide feedback on testability

• Contribute to test planning, estimation, and reporting

• Assist with the setup and execution of automated tests (if experienced)

• Continuously improve QA processes and best practices

Requirements

• 3–5 years of experience in software quality assurance, primarily in manual testing

• Experience with test case management and defect tracking tools

• Understanding of QA methodologies, SDLC, and best practices

• Experience with automated testing frameworks is an advantage

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
