<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;"><strong>Position Summary</strong></span><br><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Gelfand, Rennert & Feldman is seeking an Internal Tax Manager to join our team of dedicated professionals. This position can be based out of Los Angeles, Chicago, New York, or Austin. The Internal Tax Manager is responsible for consulting with Firm partners, managers and staff on client tax issues, and will also handle/assist with income tax audits.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;"><strong>Primary Responsibilities</strong></span></p>
<ul>
<li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Provide support to Staff, Managers and Managing Directors by fielding tax questions, conducting tax research and acting as subject matter expert</span></li>
<li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Assist in handling tax notices and income tax audits with Staff and Managers</span></li>
<li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Monitor new tax developments and provide guidance about them to the Firm</span></li>
<li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Limited review and possible preparation of moderate to complex, multi-state tax returns (individual, S corporation, C corporation, partnership, estate, and trusts)</span></li>
<li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Other projects and duties as assigned</span></li>
</ul>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;"><strong>Qualifications</strong></span></p>
<ul>
<li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">6+ years of well-rounded income tax experience, ideally for clients in the entertainment space</span></li>
<li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Experience with HNW individuals and their multistate S corporations and partnerships</span></li>
<li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Ability to use research software (i.e., RIA, CCH, etc.) to conduct tax research and tax planning with minimal supervision, and to prepare clear and concise answers to questions asked</span></li>
<li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Prior experience handling day-to-day tax questions, monitoring tax law changes, trends and guidance, and sending tax updates to partners, managers, staff and/or clients</span></li>
<li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Prior experience handling federal and state tax correspondence</span></li>
<li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Prior experience conducting federal and state tax audits</span></li>
<li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Background familiarity with the entertainment industry (namely music, film, TV, sports and fashion) is favored</span></li>
<li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Solid interpersonal skills and other key soft skills (i.e., critical thinking, adaptability, time management, emotional intelligence, active listening, etc.)</span></li>
<li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Sense of urgency and demonstrated ability to follow through</span></li>
<li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Excellent verbal and written communication skills</span></li>
<li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Commitment to professionalism, discretion and accuracy</span></li>
<li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (including Excel, Word, Outlook)</span></li>
</ul>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;"><strong>Required Education & Experience:</strong> Bachelor’s degree, CPA license, and 6+ years of solid tax research and income tax audit experience</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;"><strong>Preferred Education & Experience:</strong> MST or JD, 8+ years of experience in similar role, familiar with RIA and CCH tax research services and CCH Axcess tax software</span></p>

<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">The annualized base pay range for this role is expected to be between <strong>$140,000 - $175,000</strong>. Actual base pay could vary based on factors including but not limited to experience, subject matter expertise, geographic location where work will be performed, and the applicant's skill set. The base pay is just one component of the total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include an annual bonus and a comprehensive benefits package.
