<p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Location:</strong> Brooklyn, NY (On-site initially → Hybrid/Remote)</p> <p><strong><u>About the Role</u></strong></p> <p>EVG Specialty Network and VERG Brooklyn are looking for a hands-on <strong>IT Administrator</strong> to join our team and serve as the go-to technology partner for a busy specialty animal hospital in Brooklyn—while also supporting additional hospital locations remotely.</p> <p>This is an ideal opportunity for someone early in their IT career (1–5 years of experience) who enjoys variety, problem-solving, and learning on the job. You’ll get exposure to everything from help desk support to systems and networking, with a clear path to grow into a more advanced infrastructure role over time.</p> <p>You’ll start fully on-site to build relationships and gain a deep understanding of our systems, then transition into a more flexible hybrid/remote setup with occasional on-site visits.</p> <p><strong><u>What You’ll Do</u></strong></p> <p><strong>Be the Go-To IT Support</strong></p> <ul> <li>Provide day-to-day technical support to doctors, technicians, and administrative staff</li> <li>Troubleshoot hardware, software, and connectivity issues (Windows, printers, peripherals)</li> <li>Support clinical and business applications used in a veterinary environment</li> <li>Manage user accounts, access, and onboarding/offboarding</li> </ul> <p><strong>Support Core Systems</strong></p> <ul> <li>Assist with Windows servers, Active Directory, and basic Group Policy</li> <li>Help manage Microsoft 365 (Exchange, Teams, OneDrive)</li> <li>Monitor system performance, backups, and alerts</li> <li>Perform routine updates, maintenance, and patching</li> </ul> <p><strong>Work Across Networks</strong></p> <ul> <li>Troubleshoot basic network issues (connectivity, DNS, DHCP, VLANs)</li> <li>Support firewalls, switches, and wireless systems (Meraki experience is a plus)</li> <li>Coordinate with vendors and ISPs when needed</li> </ul> <p><strong>Support a Growing Network</strong></p> <ul> <li>Provide remote IT support across multiple hospital locations</li> <li>Help standardize systems and processes across sites</li> <li>Assist with projects like new site setups, upgrades, and equipment rollouts</li> </ul> <p><strong>Contribute &amp; Grow</strong></p> <ul> <li>Participate in IT projects (infrastructure upgrades, migrations, security improvements)</li> <li>Maintain clear documentation for systems and processes</li> <li>Help improve IT workflows and best practices</li> </ul> <p><strong><u>What We’re Looking For</u></strong></p> <ul> <li>1–5 years of experience in IT support, systems administration, or a related role</li> <li>Strong troubleshooting skills across hardware, software, and basic networking</li> <li>Experience with:</li> <ul> <li>Windows 11</li> <li>Active Directory / user management</li> <li>Basic networking (IP addressing, DNS, DHCP)</li> </ul> <li>Ability to communicate clearly with non-technical users</li> <li>Self-starter who can prioritize and work independently</li> </ul> <p><strong>Nice to Have</strong></p> <ul> <li>Microsoft 365 administration experience</li> <li>Familiarity with virtualization (VMware or Hyper-V)</li> <li>Experience supporting multiple locations or distributed environments</li> <li>Exposure to networking/firewall platforms (e.g., Cisco Meraki)</li> <li>Knowledge of backup and disaster recovery</li> <li>Experience in healthcare or veterinary settings</li> </ul> <p><strong><u>Work Environment</u></strong></p> <ul> <li><strong>Phase 1:</strong> Fully on-site in Brooklyn, NY</li> <li><strong>Phase 2:</strong> Hybrid/remote with occasional on-site visits</li> <li>Occasional after-hours work for maintenance or urgent issues</li> </ul> <p><strong><u>Why Join Us?</u></strong></p> <ul> <li>Gain hands-on experience across systems, networking, and support</li> <li>Work in a fast-growing, multi-site healthcare environment</li> <li>Clear path for career growth into more advanced IT roles</li> <li>Transition into a flexible, primarily remote position after onboarding</li> <li>Make a real impact supporting teams who deliver critical animal care</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>EVG Specialty Network and VERG Brooklyn are equal opportunity employers.
