About the role
Role purpose
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated IT Project Coordinator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading IT projects from initiation to completion, ensuring that they are completed on time, within budget, and meet the requirements outlined by stakeholders. This role requires strong leadership abilities, excellent communication skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
The key duties and responsibilities of the role are as follows:
- Lead and manage IT projects, including but not limited to system implementations, software upgrades, infrastructure deployments, and technology migrations.
- Define project scope, goals, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, and budgets.
- Identify and manage project risks, issues, and dependencies.
- Coordinate with internal teams and external vendors to ensure project milestones are achieved.
- Coordinate IT procurement during projects
- Monitor project progress and communicate updates to stakeholders.
- Conduct regular project status meetings and provide reports on project health.
- Ensure that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet quality standards.
- Manage project resources, including personnel, equipment, and budget allocation.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to project team members
- Acting as the single reference point for cross-functional activities/tasks within the IT department (inclusive of liaising with the corporate projects’ office and/or other project stakeholders; keeping a single issues list related to one or more systems and ensuring that prioritization of tasks is made and commitments to delivery are kept).
- Continuously improving project management methods and processes.
- Leading and engaging in vendor and/or third-party product, system, and/or solution selection (inclusive of drawing up calls for expression of interest and submitting proposals; adjudication of proposals and proposed solutions from the commercial, technical and other relevant perspectives; drawing up of vendor support agreements).

Core competencies, knowledge, and experience
- MQF level 6 - Degree or higher in information technology, computer engineering, computing science, project management or similar.
- Proven experience as an IT Project Coordinator, with a track record of successfully delivering complex projects on time and within budget.
- Strong understanding of project management methodologies, tools, and techniques.
- Knowledge of risk management, service improvement and stakeholder management.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Previous experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Willingness to travel as needed to support project activities.
- Driving License
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification such as PRINCE2 or equivalent.
- Experience working in Agile or Scrum environments.
- Familiarity with ITIL framework
- Knowledge of relevant technologies and systems, such as cloud computing, networks, access control and enterprise software solutions.
