JOB DESCRIPTION:
Silver Hill Energy is looking for an IT Support Specialist to join our team on a contract basis. This is a 100% on-site role supporting approximately 70 employees across our organization. As an IT Support Specialist, you will be a frontline resource for our employees' day-to-day technology needs. You'll work on-site to resolve technical issues, support new hires through the onboarding process, and ensure our helpdesk operations run efficiently. This role interacts with employees across all levels and departments — from administrative staff to field and operations personnel — making strong communication and a customer-first mindset essential to success.
JOB DUTIES:
- Coordinate and execute hardware setup, software installation, and file permission configuration for new employees, ensuring a smooth first-day experience
- Provide on-site support for open helpdesk tickets, diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, and connectivity issues in a timely manner
- Deliver remote technical assistance to end users across departments, including field and operations staff, adapting support to rigs, field offices, and plants
- Maintain accurate records of support requests, resolutions, and equipment inventory
- Support the rollout of patches and upgrades across key software platforms, keeping systems secure, up to date, and minimally disruptive to daily operations
- Escalate complex issues to senior IT staff or third-party vendors as appropriate
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS:
- 2–3 years of experience in IT support, helpdesk, or a related role
- Proficiency with Windows OS environments, Microsoft 365, and common enterprise software
- Hands-on experience with hardware setup, troubleshooting, and peripheral configuration
- Familiarity with user account management and file permission structures (Active Directory preferred)
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to support both technical and non-technical users
- Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple open issues in a dynamic environment
- Experience in the oil and gas or energy sector is a plus
COMPENSATION & SCHEDULE:
- Pay: $32–$40/hour, depending on qualifications and experience
- Monday–Friday, on-site at our Uptown Dallas office
- No after-hours or weekend support required
- Contract position
