About the role
An international company operating in the aerospace manufacturing industry is looking for a highly skilled IT Systems Engineer to join its Infrastructure & Operations team. This role is pivotal in ensuring the reliability, scalability, and security of global IT systems while fostering collaboration across IT teams and departments. The ideal candidate combines deep technical expertise with strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively collaborate with colleagues both locally and remotely.
Key Responsibilities
Design, implement, and maintain enterprise IT infrastructure including servers, networks, storage, and virtualization platforms.
Monitor system performance and proactively resolve issues to ensure high availability and reliability.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business-critical applications and services.
Lead or contribute to infrastructure projects such as data centre migrations, system upgrades, and cybersecurity enhancements.
Document system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members and act as a technical reference point.
Communicate effectively with internal clients, vendors, and external/or partners.
Participate in incident response and root cause analysis, ensuring timely resolution and clear communication.
Support compliance with internal security policies and external regulatory requirements.
Required Skills & Qualifications
· Bachelor or master’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
Minimum 7 years of experience in IT systems management.
Strong knowledge of Windows and Linux servers, virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V, Citrix), Hybrid Microsoft environment and cloud platforms.
Experience with network protocols and equipment (Juniper, Aruba, Cisco and Palo Alto), firewalls, VPNs and storage technologies (SAN/NAS).
Familiarity with ITSM tools and practices (e.g., JIRA).
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
Proven ability to work collaboratively in multicultural and multidisciplinary teams.
High emotional intelligence, empathy, and adaptability in dynamic environments.
