About the role
University of Udine is looking for an IVY volunteer!
The volunteer will support the Interreg project “Nettle4EU - Piante alpine per applicazioni ad alto valore aggiunto: sinergie transfrontaliere per un’innovazione sostenibile", under the Programme "Interreg Italia-Austria".
The NETTLE4EU project builds on the results achieved by NETTLE, which developed the first cross-border database of the phytochemical fingerprint and nutritional and functional properties (antioxidant, antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, and wound-healing activity) of natural extracts from Alpine plants. NETTLE4EU aims to transfer and leverage this knowledge by defining optimal technological protocols for the formulation of functional products in the food, cosmetics, and pharmaceutical sectors. Activities will include post-formulation stability, compatibility, and biological activity studies, with a particular focus on preserving bioactive properties.
The volunteer will be carrying out the following tasks and activities:
be involved in communication and dissemination activities, contributing to making research results more visible and accessible to different target groups;
help create and adapt communication content such as news articles, website updates, newsletters, and social media posts, focusing on NETTLE4EU activities, results, and stakeholder engagement;
assist in the organisation and promotion of NETTLE4EU local activities in Friuli Venezia Giulia, including focus groups, Open Day Lab at the LARA – Agro-Food Research Laboratory, web cafés, and outreach events for companies, students, and the wider public;
contribute to the collection and simplification of NETTLE4EU research results, helping transform technical content into accessible materials for a broader audience. This may include supporting the development of NETTLE4EU digital content (e.g. videos) and contributions to the NETTLE4EU project’s booklet, particularly on topics related to food innovation and sustainable use of plant-based extracts.
