About the role
- Designing, developing, and maintaining APIs using Kong.
- Creating custom plugins for Kong to extend its functionality, such as for authentication, authorization, or traffic control.
- Integrating Kong with existing APIs, services, and applications.
- Monitoring the API gateway, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring its performance and stability.
- Maintaining API specifications, documentation, and developer portals.
- Working closely with other developers, architects, and stakeholders.
- Keeping up-to-date with the latest Kong features, best practices, and security updates.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of experience using Kong.
- Deep understanding of Kong's architecture, functionalities, and API gateway management.
- Proficiency in RESTful API design, OpenAPI specifications, and microservices architectures.
- Strong experience with scripting languages like Lua or Python, and potentially other languages like JavaScript/TypeScript.
- Familiarity with DevOps principles, CI/CD pipelines, and tools like Git, Jenkins, and GitHub Actions.
- Experience with API testing, functional testing, test automation tools, and troubleshooting skills.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and their integration with Kong.
- Understanding of API security tools and protocols like OAuth, OIDC, and RBAC.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with cross-functional teams.
- Amenable to work in Ortigas (hybrid)
