About the role

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver programmes of work linked to the head office people strategy, including Early Careers, Induction & Onboarding, Career Pathways, and Customer Care. 
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with senior leaders to influence engagement with L&D initiatives. 
  • Design and deliver impactful learning solutions that enhance retail store performance. 
  • Lead L&D projects from concept to implementation, ensuring solutions are embedded and measurable. 
  • Create best‑in‑class induction and onboarding experiences. 
  • Develop Early Careers initiatives, including establishing partnerships with education authorities. 
  • Produce blended learning tools for both in‑person delivery and LMS platforms. 
  • Analyse data to inform decision‑making, measure impact, and demonstrate ROI against retail KPIs. 
  • Coach and develop retail management teams to drive high performance. 
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders through clear, engaging written and verbal updates. 
  • Identifies potential talent and recognises skill gaps. 
  • Approachable and inclusive, creating a comfortable learning environment. 
  • Responsive yet planned, balancing agility with alignment to the wider people plan. 
  • Collaborative, acting as a learning ambassador with a growth mindset.

We would like to meet someone who is

  • Experience working in a retail environment with a track record of delivering development initiatives that influence senior stakeholders. 
  • Strong presentation and facilitation skills, delivering with clarity and impact. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, keeping stakeholders informed and engaged. 
  • Experience coaching and developing management teams to improve performance. 
  • Proven L&D design skills, particularly within Early Careers programmes. 
  • Ability to work at pace and translate concepts into comprehensive learning solutions. 
  • Strong analytical capability, using data to shape decisions and design training tools. 
  • Experience creating best‑in‑class induction and onboarding experiences. 
  • Background in developing Early Careers initiatives and building partnerships with education authorities. 
  • Skilled in blended learning approaches, designing for both in‑person and LMS delivery. 
  • Experience working in environments where learning and communication operate as a unified educational stream. 
  • Ability to use L&D data trends to demonstrate impact and ROI against retail KPIs. 
  • Proven success delivering projects within tight timelines while ensuring initiatives are embedded and measurable.
