What we do, really makes a difference.</p> <p class="p3">As an Electronics Laboratory Technician you will be part of the team responsible for the Bristol</p> <p class="p3">laboratories within Graphcore ensuring the lab facilities are always operational and available to</p> <p class="p3">support cross-functional operations. You will also help develop and implement standard operating</p> <p class="p3">procedures to ensure compliance with ESD, safety, quality and regulatory standards, and other</p> <p class="p3">relevant policies.</p> <p class="p3"><strong><br>The Team</strong></p> <p class="p3">The Laboratory team supports the installation, maintenance, repair and modification of electronic</p> <p class="p3">systems, cables, and equipment within the laboratory. Providing support to cross-functional teams</p> <p class="p3">to troubleshoot issues to ensure reliable and safe operation of all lab equipment. The team also</p> <p class="p3">maintains accurate technical documentation, manages tools, assets, and test equipment, and</p> <p class="p3">contributes to efficient, high-quality technical operations.</p> <p class="p3"><strong><br>Responsibilities and Duties</strong></p> <p class="p3">• Support the installation, setup, and calibration of electronic test equipment (oscilloscopes, logic</p> <p class="p3">analysers, power supplies, etc).</p> <p class="p3">• Execute preventative maintenance programs.</p> <p class="p3">• Maintain a clean and safe lab environment, ensuring compliance with health and safety</p> <p class="p3">requirements.</p> <p class="p3">• Check and maintain ESD countermeasures.</p> <p class="p3">• Responsible for asset management and goods in/out process for the laboratories.</p> <p class="p3">• Support engineering teams in setting up test benches, configuring equipment, and ensuring</p> <p class="p3">technical readiness for hardware bring up, validation, and characterisation.</p> <p class="p3">• Generate standard operating procedures providing technical guidance, training, and procedures</p> <p class="p3">to support the requirements of multidisciplined lab teams.</p> <p class="p3">• Support engineering teams with board, cable, and wire modifications.</p> <p class="p3">Candidate Profile</p> <p class="p3"><strong><br>Essential:</strong></p> <p class="p3">• Experience in working in an electronics lab environment.</p> <p class="p3">• Strong technical understanding of electronic test equipment, including setup, calibration, and</p> <p class="p3">troubleshooting.</p> <p class="p3"><span class="s2">Job Description Template 2024</span>• Good understanding of ESD prevention and controls.</p> <p class="p3">• Working knowledge of health &amp; safety requirements in an electronics laboratory, ensure safe</p> <p class="p3">working practices are implemented and controlled.</p> <p class="p3">• Ability to collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams in the laboratory environment,</p> <p class="p3">ensuring setups meet technical requirements while adhering to defined working practices and</p> <p class="p3">project timescales.</p> <p class="p3">• Experience in Repair and Modification of PCB assemblies to IPC-7711/21 and J-STD-001</p> <p class="p3">standards.</p> <p class="p3">• Experience in cable and wire harness assemblies to drawings and IPC-620 standards.</p> <p class="p3">• Experience in IPC-A-610 Inspection.</p> <p class="p3">• A pragmatic approach, the ability to improvise and get the job done.</p> <p class="p3">• Ability to mentor junior members of the team.</p> <p class="p3">• Effective communication skills.</p> <p class="p3"><br><strong>Desirable</strong></p> <p class="p3">• Experience using asset management systems including tracking of test equipment, security-</p> <p class="p3">controlled devices, and calibration status.</p> <p class="p3">• Experience in collaborating with external subcontractors for technical services including periodic</p> <p class="p3">maintenance and calibration of lab equipment, facilities upgrade, or specialist equipment</p> <p class="p3">maintenance.</p>
