This is only going to increase: Air travel is forecasted to double by 2050, while meaningful efficiency gains using current airplanes have hit a wall.  JetZero is developing a blended-wing body (BWB) aircraft. It uses up to 50% less fuel and will be built to accommodate zero-emission hydrogen propulsion. JetZero is the inevitable solution to sustainable air travel.  <h3>The JetZero Team </h3> We are experienced aerospace professionals and engineers, excited about the future. That future will only be possible if we share our vision and what it means to people’s lives: carbon-free flight that' is better for both passengers and airlines around the world. </div>This role is based in Long Beach, CA reporting to the Head of Lab and Test with day-to-day responsibilities and tasking defined by the Iron Bird Lead Lab Engineer. This position will be responsible for the build and testing of aircraft system lab electrical harnesses. <h3>What You'll Do</h3> <ul> <li>Fabricate aircraft and test lab electrical wiring harnesses, cable assemblies, and looms per engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, and work instructions</li> <li>Perform wire cutting, stripping, crimping, soldering, splicing, routing, and lacing using approved tools and techniques</li> <li>Install connectors, backshells, contacts, heat shrink, and protective sleeving to aerospace standards</li> <li>Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals</li> <li>Perform continuity, insulation resistance, and functional testing of harness assemblies</li> <li>Inspect completed work to ensure compliance with quality, safety, and regulatory standards (FAA, IPC/WHMA, MIL-STD, etc.)</li> <li>Troubleshoot and repair wiring harness discrepancies or defects</li> <li>Maintain accurate production and inspection documentation</li> <li>Follow ESD, FOD, and safety procedures at all times</li> <li>Collaborate with engineering, quality, and production teams to resolve technical issues</li> <li>Maintain tools, equipment, and a clean, organized work area</li> <li>Integrate wiring harnesses into lab test fixtures, ensuring proper fit and function.</li> <li>Assist in the development and improvement of assembly and testing processes to ensure consistency and efficiency. </li> </ul> <h3>What You'll Bring </h3> <ul> <li>Minimum 2 years prior experience within the aircraft industry with a focus on avionics, electronics, and electrical harness building activities.</li> <li>Hands-on experience with mechanical and electrical assembly, system integration, and testing processes directly related to aircraft assembly, maintenance and operation.</li> <li>Familiarity with reading and interpreting technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and schematics.</li> <li>Proficiency in the use of test and measurement equipment such as oscilloscopes and multimeters, etc.</li> <li>Proficiency in crimping, soldering, and wire termination to aerospace standards</li> <li>Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.</li> <li>Knowledge of quality control and assurance processes in manufacturing or aerospace manufacturing environments.</li> <li>Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship, onsite at our Long Beach location.</li> <li>An energetic mindset ready to be a part of lab fabrication and testing activities within tight timelines.</li> </ul> <h3>Qualifications We Prefer</h3> <ul> <li>Can work in a fast-moving, agile environment and can prioritize and resolve issues in support of the program and its goals.</li> <li>Ability to communicate effectively with all colleagues associated with the build of lab electrical harnesses.</li> <li>IPC/WHMA-A-620 certification (or equivalent)</li> <li>Experience with military or commercial aircraft wiring standards</li> <li>Ability to work from engineering change orders (ECOs)</li> <li>Willingness to work flexible hours, weekends, and holidays.</li> <li>Strong written and verbal communication skills.</li> <li>Strong attention to detail.</li> </ul> <h3>Helpful Traits</h3> <ul> <li>You have a startup mindset – We are a small team with big ambitions. The range for this role is $38 - $50 an hour.
