Summary

The Senior Project Manager at HMT is responsible for preparation and coordination of all technical activities on an assigned project. The Senior Project Manager plans, schedules, conducts, and coordinates assigned engineering work, monitors work for compliance to applicable codes, accepted engineering practices and standards, and ensures effective communication and coordination on assigned projects between all disciplines and all other project consultants.

The Senior Project Manager is the main point of contact in the day-to-day interaction with the Client’s designated representative, jurisdictional agency personnel as well as coordination of all internal activities performed by engineering staff. The Senior Project Manager will have the responsibility for applying intensive and diversified knowledge of engineering principles and practices in broad areas for the development of residential, commercial and land development projects.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead two teams of Project Engineers, EIT’s, and designers to produce construction plans, exhibits, reports, tables, etc..
  • Responsible for planning, scheduling, conducting and coordinating the technical aspects of projects
  • Accountable for the successful completion of engineering projects
  • Assist in the preparation of engineering project proposals
  • Budget monitoring and trend tracking
  • Participate in Client/Contractor meetings and resolving technical project issues
  • Work to educate and build personal, as well as team, knowledge of market sector specifics. Become an expert and trusted resource to our clients at the project level.
  • Recruit employees, assign, direct, and evaluate their work, and oversee the development and maintenance of staff competence within their project team

 

Qualifications and Skills

  • Effective communication skills with all level of employees within an organization, both oral and written skills
  • Effective interpersonal skills with all level of employees within an organization as well as clients and public agency officials
  • Incredibly motivated
  • Excellent project management skills, including holding team accountable and delivering excellence to clients
  • Must be flexible to changes in work assignments on short notice and/or on a daily basis as changes occur in project needs

 

Required Education/Licenses

  • Bachelor of Science, Civil Engineering is required.
  • Registered as a Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) – in Texas

 

Required Experience:

  • 10+ years of land development experience
  • Expert in residential and commercial land development engineering
  • Strong communication skills
