Responsibilities

  • Providing 1:1 support to students with additional learning needs, ensuring they are fully engaged in lessons and able to access the curriculum.
  • Assisting the class teacher in delivering tailored interventions, adapting materials and resources to suit the individual needs of students.
  • Supporting students in their social development, helping them build confidence, friendships, and positive behavior in the classroom and playground.
  • Working closely with the school’s SEN team and external specialists to monitor and assess students' progress, contributing to individualized education plans (IEPs).
  • Maintaining a positive and encouraging relationship with students, helping them to feel safe and supported in their learning journey.

Experience and Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a Learning Support Assistant (LSA) or in a similar role supporting children with additional needs is preferred.
  • A passion for inclusive education and supporting children with learning challenges.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, staff, and parents.
  • A patient, empathetic, and positive attitude towards supporting children's individual learning needs.
  • A clear DBS check
  • Legal right to work within the UK
