Geotab is seeking a Legal Counsel to manage complex legal agreements and negotiations across technology, data licensing, government contracting, privacy, and intellectual property. As a global leader in IoT and connected transportation, Geotab processes billions of data points daily to help organizations optimize fleets, enhance safety, and ensure regulatory compliance.

In this role, you will oversee a broad portfolio of legal matters, including end user, distribution, OEM, and wireless carrier agreements. You will support negotiations with a diverse range of stakeholders—resellers, customers, OEMs, suppliers, and government entities—integrating legal, technical, and business considerations to deliver practical solutions. The position also involves contributing to legal strategies for mass contracting, product development, risk management, and emerging issues in AI, big data, and privacy.

You will provide legal support for product design, intellectual property litigation, M&A activity, and global expansion initiatives. The ideal candidate brings 5-8 years of experience in a law firm or in-house legal department, is licensed to practice in Ontario, and has a strong background in technology transactions, government contracting, and data privacy. Experience with AI tools, software, and technology-focused joint ventures is highly valued, along with strong analytical, negotiation, and project management skills.
