In this role, you will support investigative, transparency, and research initiatives that provide the factual foundation for litigation, legislation, and strategic responses to censorship-related challenges.</span></p> <p><span style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;">This position is suited for an attorney with strong research skills, intellectual curiosity, and the ability to contribute to complex investigative projects.</span></p> <p><span style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; color: rgb(35, 111, 161);"><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></span></p> <ul> <li style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;"> <p><strong>Investigative Research</strong></p> <ul> <li>Conduct legal and factual research into institutions, policies, and initiatives related to censorship and free expression.</li> <li>Collect, organize, and analyze publicly available information relevant to investigative efforts.</li> <li>Prepare research memoranda and analytical reports supporting senior attorneys and leadership.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Public Records &amp; Transparency Work</strong></p> <ul> <li>Draft and submit public records and transparency requests at federal, state, and international levels.</li> <li>Track deadlines, manage follow-up communications, and monitor compliance.</li> <li>Review and analyze records obtained through transparency requests.</li> <li>Assist in preparing materials related to transparency enforcement actions.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Investigative Support</strong></p> <ul> <li>Assist in mapping relationships among institutions, organizations, and programs relevant to censorship-related issues.</li> <li>Compile factual records supporting litigation development, legislative initiatives, and oversight efforts.</li> <li>Support the development of investigative research files and briefing materials.</li> </ul> </li> </ul> <p><span style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; color: rgb(35, 111, 161);"><strong>Minimum Qualifications</strong></span></p> <ul> <li style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;"><span style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;">Bachelor’s degree</span></li> <li style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;"><span style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;">JD., licensed to practice law in the relevant jurisdiction</span></li> <li style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;"><span style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;">3+ years of relevant experience&nbsp;</span></li> </ul> <p><span style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; color: rgb(35, 111, 161);"><strong>Pay &amp; Benefits</strong></span></p> <p><span style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;">At Alliance Defending Freedom, we offer a competitive compensation and benefits package to support your well-being and growth.
